Anyone have any idea when this is actually being released in the UK?

I haven't heard any news of that happening yet. It's only £20 at PlayAsia anyway, it'll probably cost more when it comes out here!

Get in there:

I own a DATEL Lan Adaptor.

It works perfectly, it looks like it's cheaper than the Nintendo one, and it spots 2 light-blue leds, which the "official" one lacks.

And I bought it for 0,99 pounds on ebay.....

Failing that you could buy the Datel LAN Adapter.

The one I got in January seems to do the job pretty well.

99p on eBay?? my gosh, get in there!!

Diablo - it's basically an adaptor so you can connect a Wii to the Internet via ethernet rather than using wireless connection. 8)

oh yeah.. cheers Daz mate thanx for not calling me Dopey :P

Those wifi stick thingys will do the job too. Even though I have wireless I can see once online gaming really gets going on the Wii that a wired connection might be the way forward - it did improve things when I went wired on the Xbox 360 by a large margin! 8)

im wireless on my 360 Daz .. never could tell the difference exept less wires... LOL! (sorry)

but yeah im sure wi-fi is a little less powerfull than normal wireless - sort of like the same bandwidth as a mobile phone..

sooo in all fairness if wii does go live (please god) i think the lan adapter is your bestest bet .. because itll allow greater bandwith

We only get crappy 512k ASDL in my area so every once of bandwidth makes a difference for me! hehe

If your going to get the wii fii lan adapter, but not get VC then dont bothere wasting your money on it, or if you do want to buy VC then try and find a connection in your house trust me it saves you allot of money and one more thing dont buy a classic controller, if you see a gamecube controller then get it, nintendo is just trying to find a way to rip more money off you.

chris_92, what the hell are you saying?

It's like I came here and say: "if you're gonna say useless things, do not post", which anyway would make a lot more sense than your message.

1)The Virtual Console is the most used among all internet services that Nintendo provides but it's not the only one, and there will be more in the future.

2)The Classic Controller is a killer. I really hope you're saying these things because you can't afford one, if you really don't like it, you should know that videogaming is something relegated to creatures who have opposable thumbs.

I've bought the Datel Wii Lan Adapter, and it's a hell of a lot better than the Wifi USB Connector. The USB just didnt work sometimes for me, but now the Wii connects no problems whatsoever. Highly recomended, especially if you get it nice and cheap like neuzd did.

Agree Ethernet over Wi-Fi fo sho, i recommend it any day. Sure Wi-Fi is "fine" for surfing webpages, but NOT when playing online games or stuff that needs a good ping. Tomany variables come intoplay then (before your isp's uplink). Do you have walls between LAG. The loonger the signals travel to your uplink MORELAG. Do you use encryption LAG(you dont want extra "layers" of code to work on the data stream before you hand it to your isp). Is it other stuff/interference on the channel LAG. More stuff to misconfig LAG. Each of thise "link thraps" makes you get a bigger chance to loose packets and generate LAG. But with a Ethernet adapter you get "pure" data traveling to your isp(only the cable/data through usb generate lag then). :D

Peace
