That's right kids! A motioned controlled F-Zero would be perfect for the Wii!

CONTROLS:
D-Pad = Turbo
2 = Accel
1 = Brake
Motion Control, Held in Steering Wheel Position = Steering Obviously

Wow, just like Excite Truck!

CHARACTERS:
All from F-Zero GX
Miis

COURSES:
Coming Soon!

MODES:
Classic Grand Prix- A regular grand prix, like the ones in F-Zero X.
Multiplayer Grand Prix- Classic Grand Prix, but with more than one human player. (Up to 4)
Wi-Fi Grand Prix- All 50 some odd guys and gals can be played at in Wi-Fi Grand Prix. Obviously, no such thing as 'Split-Screen' here; you just see your own screen containing, you guest it, your own racer.
Create a Car- A little obvious, amirite?
Mini Games- Racing-based mini games where you play as your Miis.
Options- Various options loom around here. Highscores are also recorded here.

Nooooo, not another motion controlled game! I don't mind giving it a try but I want proper analogue control to choose from also.

Are you listening Mario Kart Wii!!! :small-boo:

Like F-Zero GX wasn't difficult enough to master with normal controls. Motion controls would make the game virtually impossible.

I have beaten both F-Zero X and F-Zero GX on the hardest diffculties.
And not just once. Not just twice. Many many many times (with every machine).

And the only thing that would make that series better is indeed a motion control like in Excite Truck.
The controls are perfect. I just can't go back and play a racing game with analogue controls ever again.
So Jonno, this time I'm on your side :D

Yay! Hmm.... courses will be a bit tough so I think I'll do modes next...

Without meaning to be another motion-moaning-minnie, I don't think motion control would suit the game, it's too fast for that sort of thing. Maybe a remote/nunchuk combo with waggle for attacks and such?

I have no problem with motion control in very fast games.
I trained my reflexes in the already pretty fast Excite Truck.
The control was tight. Just perfect apart from the air spin technique.

Need for Speed Carbon for Wii on the other hand was slow, sluggish, blah.
Controls were unresponsive, but maybe I should have put a little more time into it.
I never got around to play Monster 4x4 or GT Pro Series. From what I've heard these two games are trash.

Anyway, if there's a new F-Zero they could put different control configs into it, so everyone can have their favourite style. That's always the best solution.

The controller in NFS are good, just takes a while to get used to. Hopefully it will be even better in the next one.

And I agree to your topic. The next F-zero should be with motion sensor controller. I wouldn't buy it though, I'm not a fan of the series (no braking? that's not racing).

There are a few courses where the brakes come into use, even if it's just for a split second.

F-Zero AX used a steering wheel as its controls, and that worked fine (although it was very difficult, which it should be). Motion controls will be no different, I think you could get used to them and Excite Truck has proven that racing games really benefit from motion controls. The analogue stick is in the past now.

I think that control setup is a little too similar to Excite Truck. I would hope that Nintendo would make this game compatible with the Wii Wheel, and include more buttons for spinning, drifting, boosting, etc.

Racing games pre-Wii have always used similar control setups, it doesn't mean that they're the same to play. Just for an example, Mario Kart doesn't play anything like Sega Rally even though they both use the d-pad and buttons to do the same thing. I think an f-zero game with excite truck controls would feel completely different as well.

Isn't the Wii wheel just some plastic that clips onto the Wii remote to make it into a wheel shape? I don't see much point in that myself.

Ya, you're right, I looked it up and I thought that it was a seperate controller all together.

Yes, but Excite Truck has fewer controls than say, F-Zero GX. F-Zero requires more buttons to perform its actions.

Right!

I played Excite Truck and NFS Carbon on Wii.
The controls are similiar but they are very different in handling at all.
To say, every racing game with Motion controls feels the same is just like saying Gran Tourismo plays the same as Mario Kart.

Right!

And I heard Nintendo was planning additional features and buttons for the Wii Steering Wheel.
The Wii Steering Wheel isn't just a plastic thing to put in your Wiimote.
Don't know much about it but at least F-Zero really needs some more buttons - attacking and strafing would be sluggish with only the D-Pad.

Yes, fair point, although there's nothing to say the gameplay can't be significantly re-worked for a new game.

I'm not a fan of too many extra accessories/peripherals, I think a lot can be acheived with the current Wii controller setup. Maybe something that allows the Wii remote and the classic controller to be joined together would work here.

How about something where you use the wiimote and nunchuck and hold them both up to go straight, then lower one or the other (i.e. hold it more horizontal) to move in that direction? Would take a bit of getting used to, but it's not completely illogical... Plus, it would keep all the buttons free for air-brakes, weapons etc...

One thing I like about EA. Their Need for Speed franchises goto EVERY current console. Even the DS is getting it.

Doesn't matter for me if they release the game on every console available as long as the one I buy is a good one. More money to EA, if they make good games, they deserve it.

Yeah, if. A lot of their games are too so-so. I remember the days when EA was still an actual normal developer and not the powerhouse it is today. There's something to be said about being too big.
