Has this happened to anyone else here? it happened to me 4 times. twice on the internet channel, but that was before the update. once on metroid. I was flying in my ship when everything stoped and the wii started making this high pitched beeping noise. and once yesterday. I was about to send a message to someone but when I clicked it didn't do anything. This happened before usually it will stay like that for 3 seconds then say there's a problem with wiiconect24. But this time it just stayed like that. and 5 minutes later it was still like that. and whenever these things happen I can't turn the power off I have to unplug the wii. And when I turn the wii back on, you know how it makes a beeping noise then a click click, this time the beeping lasted longer and was high pitched. has this happend to anyone else?

Nope, but beeping noise then a click click sounds bad. You have warranty left right? If so id use it now before its out.

My Wii has locked up on me two or three times while playing. No biggie. Haven't encountered that kind of beeping noise, though.

My Wii has never frozen but when playing Super Mario Galaxy it sometimes makes very loud buzzing sounds, really unbearable ones to the extent that I have to put on some music or turn up the volume on the TV. It hasn't happened a lot lately but it is very annoying when it does...

The only time my Wii "freezes" is after it's turned on after it's been plugged in for the first time in a while. The machine turns on fine, and the Wii Menu works okay, but if I open a channel, the screen goes dark and nothing happens for a while. If I press the reset button on the Wii, then the channel activates.

Wiird. ;)

my wii also has the kelvingreen wiirus.
sometimes it's annoying because after the screen is black for about one minute i'm standing up to unplug it and suddenly the game is loaded... i don't think that's ok. but sometimes it just never loads.. happens to my wii once a month.

Never happened to me.

You might want to contact Nintendo's technical support. =|

My wii has never froze up on me but last January my disc drive was unusually loud for a whole day. I don't know if it was the game (SSX Blur) or what but it only happened once and then its been working perfectly ever since.

My Wii froze a few times, between loading VC games. it also happened during shop and internet channel loading. i did worry about it when it fist happened, but there doesnt seem to be any progression to it, and everything seems fine.

i havent heard any strange noises. just the usual disc starting up or loading, no beeping. and it hasnt happened for a while now.

still, im glad its not just me :)

The sounds my wii makes when you turn it on don't sound unusual, It just kinda sounds like a computer

my wii has never had any problems with it before, I would recommend taking it back if you still have warranty on it, contact nintendos techincal support, but if it stuffs up and freezes on you sometimes and it annoys you then i advice not to buy a 360.

I find my Wii tends to lock up when accessing VC games every so often, but I think that's something to do with WiFi/WiiConnect. When I disable WiFi I never experience blank screens and long delays before the game starts. Why WiFi/WiiConnect should affect the startup of VC games is beyond me though.

The only time I've had serious problems with humming noise and clicking is with Umbrella Chronicles where the game just wouldn't start. I've put that down to a burning error though (the surface looked clean) and the replacement worked fine. My Wii does click when I first start it, but only once and that's when it's mounting the disc ready for play. Never had beeping though - I'd definitely get in contact with Nintendo and get that checked out.

well no it's not a beeping noise and it's quiet i'll go turn it on and see, yeah it's not loud or really a beep. Just next time you turn on your wii go close to it and listen.

Um, I've had the problem where the game locks up while you are loading a channel. And of course the only way to fix it is by unplugging the Wii, which I really hate doing. After asking around on some other forums it seems a lot of other people have experienced similar problems. I really don't mind it enough to call tech support, plus it has only happened like twice, I just hate unplugging the Wii when it does it.
