I'm not quite sure what the likelihood of anyone knowing the answer to my little query but I suppose it's worth a shot.

Basically, I'm heading off to Uni late next week and as well as bringing my PC (cant live without it ;)) I also want to bring my PS2 and Wii since I have TONS of games to complete across my PS2/VC/GC/Wii. However, I'm being a lamer and I cant be bothered to buy a TV license as its a dirty rip off in my opinion so instead I was just planning on using my PC monitor for my consoles. However, my monitor isn't the best out there and sadly it dosent accept RGB SCART or the bog standard R.W.Y. wires so it looks as the only realistic option for me is the trusty old Japanese D cables.

Now, the question to all that reply to this thread is as follows:

Will these (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-10u-49-en-15-D%2BTerminal%2BAV%2BCable-70-1mwh.html)Japanese cables work on my Wii and display the images correctly in the intended 480p? Or will I have to go the awkward way of buying a random VGA box and Wii component cables?

Nope

D-Terminal is used in Japan only and completely different to VGA.

Also owning a TV doesn't mean you need a TV license, you only need a license to receive broadcasts, if your TV isn't tuned to any channels and is only used for games/DVD's you don't have to pay.

The license people will still send you letters though.

heh heh, if it wasn't for the hassle I would have just tried that anyways. Ah well, looks like its off to buy a VGA box >_>
Thanks again ^^

Just phone up the licensing company and tell them you only use your TV to watch DVD's and play games and they'll stop sending you letters, its what I did last year when i was in dorms.
