For me it was on the rubber keyed Spectrum 48k and was either Horace Goes Skiing or Frank N Stein a Manic Miner type game that no-one ever seems to remember.

I couldn't say. It was an Atari game, probably something like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Pacman, Burgertime, or that one racing game. I was way too young to remember, I might not have been speaking then.

The first game I played at our home was Pacman on the Atari 2600.

Most probably Pong or some clone.
Maybe it was something with other Pong based games, I think I remember there was also a one player game (more like a horizontal oriented Breakout), and four player games.
They were all variants of Pong anyway.
I guess it was something like 1978, because I remember that when I saw more advanced games (space invaders, galaxian, pac-man) I was already "ready" for them.

I think it was either the Atari 2600 version of the Star Wars or Pac-Man or Artillary or some kind of Atari game. But I really can't remember them much, since in his infinite wisdom, my dad got rid of the system and all the games before I was 3. Still, I can remember them (yes, I can remember stuff from when I was just over a year old).

The first game I actually remember though is playing this NES game where you control a ship that flies through space on a grid on the right hand side. And it can fly through hyperspace. On the left hand grid was a space like field and you had to do something, but I was only three so I didn't know what to do, but it was my first time even touching an NES so I toyed around with it for hours at my uncles house. Still don't have a clue what the game was.

Then at Christmas that year (when I was three) my parents, in cooperation with my uncle, bought me an NES with Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda. The rest is history...

It was either Battlezone on the original wood-effect 2600, or Felix and the Evil Weevils on the Acorn Electron.

Donkey Kong 64, at my local Walmart.Oh, man! I remember those kinds of game set-ups as a kid! The absolute best was the SNES & Super Mario World at Sam's Club. SC was slightly abandoned, so once the kid in front of us left, my brother and I had full control of the machine--plus we could play off his save. It was great! Mom tragically found out that she and Dad could be out $200 that Christmas, and I was oblivious enough to believe her when she told us not to get our hopes up, because it was just too expensive to afford. (That Christmas was awesome).

The first one I really remember playing was "Lock and Chase" for the Intellivision. It was a cheap Pac-Man rip off, but I had never played any other game before so I had no idea.

I am kind of dating myself mentioning an Intellivision, but oh well.

Ah, so I am not the only gamer whose first gaming experience was on the Matell Intellevision game system eh? My father had purchased one, and I remember asking if I could try. He pointed at the box he kept the games in and told me to to grab the game I wanted to play first. I must have been 4 or so, because I hadn't started school yet. Anyway, I grabbed a bright blue box, and tried out the game "Zaxxon". First video game I ever played. I remember that day well.

Here are a couple pics for those who don't know about this awesome console. It was the competition for the Atari 2600, and to those of us who owned them, we felt it had the superior controls and graphics in that day. ;)

I remember some of the awesome titles that system had that I owned. Does the other Intellevision gamer remember Astrosmash, Utopia, and Burgertime? Those were my favorites on Intellevision.

It was probably Rally II on the Amstrad but the first game my parents ever bought me was the It Sold A Million compilation for 6128 (oooh Disk Drive) Beach Head, Daley Thompson's Decathlon, Jet Set Willy, Sabre Wulf.

How many joysticks did Daley Thompson break?

Need some Ocean VC downloads... and Codemasters
