I don't have a PS3 yet, but I was wondering what good RPGs were on the system.

Fallout 3.

Maybe now, but I'd just get my RPG's on PSN, and wait till Kingdom Hearts 3 (or is Little Big Planet an RPG?).

Either way, if you want to play good RPGs you shouldn't be looking for them on the PS3. Or the 360. Or the Wii. All the good RPGs are coming out on portables lately.

Wait till Tales Of Symphonia Dawn Of A New World comes out for the Wii. Or what about Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (your Achilles Heel).

True, you got me. Not a big Tales fan at all. Radiant Dawn was the first Fire Emblem game I ever played, and since then it's quickly vaulted the series into my top 5. The PS3 will at least have Final Fantasy XIII (360 as well, but this is asking about PS3 games), which looks terrible to me but it'll at least sell systems to the hardcore name brand followers.

Jogurt's right, honestly, I can't think of a single good PS3 rpg at the moment, or the Wii for that matter, and I can only think of a few worth getting for the 360. But I can think of a ton for both the DS and the PSP. Its almost like the DS and PSP are the new PS2.

What about Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition... Wait a minute.

What about Super Paper Mario, and Dragon Quest Swords? Also, the Tales Of Sypmhonia sequel and the Crystal Chronicles real (not that king ****, no offence, as I've heard it was a pretty good game) are comming out. Also, you can get the few Game Cube RPG's, and after you're done with them, you can get Virtual Console RPG's, and after you're done with them... Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn.

So as you can see, there are many ways to play RPGs on your Wii. :p

Oh wait... This is a PS3 thread. Well, I'd hate to erase my 5 minutes worth, so.. I'm NOT!

Since when Is RE 4 an RPG?
Last I checked, it was an Action/Survival Horror game.

And Last I checked Super Paper Mario was a platformer with RPG elements.

I'll give you DragQuest Swords though. But from what I hear...its not very good. I didn't say there weren't any RPG's on the Wii, just not any that are very good.

And Tales of Symphonia and FF: Crystal Chronicles haven't even been released yet, so they don't really count.

And the VC and GC rpg's are great and all, but they aren't really Wii games, now are they? And honestly, I can't think of a huge number of RPG's for either system that are worth playing (don't get me wrong, there are several RPG gems on the VC and GC, but not a mind numbingly huge amount of them).

I did forget about Radiant Dawn though. I'll give you that. The Wii has one good RPG.
But I still stand by my statement that the Wii is not the system to go to for rpg's. At least not at the moment.

Eh, I was joking about Resident Evil 4. ;)
But I'm pretty sure Super Paper Mario IS an RPG (but don't quote me on that).
I guess you're right about the rest, but when have GOOD RPGs been EARLY titles? As far as I can see, many good RPGs are on their way (most noticably Fable 2 for the 360).

Golden Sun was released early in the GBA lifespan and its a great title.

Exception.
But I guess Super Paper Mario is no RPG, but I'll need to play it to make sure.

Fallout 3 sucks, pick up Oblivion for one fifth of the price and you have the very same game. And remember, all things can be solved by fighting!

...actually it's better than Oblivion, but since they've released the very same game three times now and still not handled the animations or models is really lazy of them. Play the older Fallout games instead.

Really, is Fallout 3 bad? I loved the old Fallout games, and i would get very dissapointed if the new one isnt good.

Too bad my computer cant handle Fallout 3, and i dont have any of the consoles.

If you liked the old ones, you will hate the new one from the first to last second. All sense of detail is gone, whatever quest you're doing you always have to go the violent way so putting points in speech is rather useless.

So far I've done almost every quest I've come across the most non-violent way possible. Speech points have proved useful so far. Fallout 3 is far less deep than the old ones in every way though, then again, you can't make a complicated game like that for a console. The audience would be dumbfounded. It is a nice world to explore though. I think STALKER pulled off post-apocolyptic atmosphere better though in many places.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit, it was a lot worse in Oblivion.

It might get good though, the Elder Scrolls editor works on Fallout so I would think that there will be some mods that make it more like the original games (1+2).

Most definately. For every game that has an editor there are dozens of mods trying to make it into another game. It will be fun to fool around with whatever people create.

Which I mostly did in Oblivion, some of the mods was better than the game itself. I even tried to make my own things, I succeeded in creating a house that held all the items needed for the vampire quest just so I could skip the gathering part. Only thing that needs to be improved in the Elder Scrolls editor is the land editing tool wich is all too sensetive and making it hard to do slight changes without creating mountains or craters ;)
