The picture's gone. We lost all visual, we've only got audio. We've tried everything MS say to do, and nothiong works. So it's either shell out for repair (The extended warranty is only for the RROD) or get a new one.
They (Parents and Panda) want to buy a new one, because once you get into the realms of £50 for repair, you might as well.
Now, firstly, they don't know how much it does cost for repeair, and secondly, £50 or 3150 for a Arcade unit (HDD still works). Anyone else fail to see there logic?

I'd be more tempted to repair than replace. At least if it's repaired you know the problem is gone, but with a new one it could just show up again eventually. I guess it could show up again even after a repair, though...
Sorry about the bad luck. :(

That's sad, indeed.
Every time I have the chance to laugh after Microsoft, I do it with joy.
But in the last year I've strted looking at the Xbox360 as an interesting gaming platform for what concernes my tastes.
But recently a friend's 360 prompted him the RROD. It's still working (I thought the RROD was the death certificate) but obviously he's worried that it will live on for a few time more.
Secondly, he's saying that from the beginning of the year the online services went always worse: COD4 and Halo3 matches, in which he gets disconnected early, are his most frequent problem.
So, it's quite some time that I'm looking at the 360's games (XBLA too!!!!) and find myself drooling; every confirmation of the 360's unreliability now makes me angry instead of amusing me. I'd like one, but I'm too worried of how I'll feel when I find it dead.

Around three years ago when the 360 was released, I said "I'll buy one right when they fix that problem". So here I am three years later without a 360. But hey, the PC is a wonderful replacement.

Yep, it sucks, as the 360's a great gaming platform, it has only one flaw. The console, NEEDS TO WORK IN ORDER TO PLAY THOSE GREAT GAMES!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

It sounds like this problem is far more widespread that I thought. You'd think MS would have done something about it by now...

My friend has been through three 360s already. Why do you think I bought a Wii?

I really wish all the games that were released as 360 exclusives (counting XBLA) was released on the PS3 or vice versa and have the 360 ditch the RROD problem. I want Metal Gear Solid 4, I want Halo 3. What's a guy to do?

I got bored with Halo 3 after just a few months, it seemed far too overrated, and really mediocre at times.
Go for the PS3, it's online will improve over the next while.

I want Gaiden 2 which is now a damn exclusive. Gears Of War 2, Too Human.
I was really enjoying C and C 3, but then I lost all my data, twice. Burnout Revenge I had 93% before even playing the final lot (Elite). Dead Rising, I'd killed over 30,000 Zombies trying to get the 50K achievement. I've over over 30+ hours on Oblivion. D.O.A all fighters gone. And that's just SOME of the games.
So now I will not touch a 360. Because all I feel is anger towards it now.

Well I get no lag now, so I hope it continues :D

I'm pretty sure Microsoft is either going to release an new console before holidays 2009 or else they'll go back to PCs where there arent any RRODs!

Haha, PC has the BSOD (Blue screen of death). The RROD is its little brother.
