ANYBODY got any knowledge or experience with this system? I'm not even sure if this is even Nintendo approved and am pretty sure this wont score any points with the retro hardcores... I dont even think Im gonna get this but the prospect of saving space is intriguing... i want everyones opinions before I make a decision...
otherwise Ill just get the originals...
heres a link to a factory sealed box for sale on ebay for 30 something bucks... if this is an Ninty approved console and doesnt have any type of negative outlook from retro gamers I'd consider this

Tons of these are around Ebay and they work pretty well.
Here's a review that goes over a few pros and cons.

thanks Spore could always count on ya to give your opinion..
I am thinking about getting the original consoles and games (ebay,etc...) and just put them in a box (whats the stance of the people around here on emulating games that they already own hard copies? does the copyright law state that I must own the consoles as well? I only want to do things the LEGAL way.) I am waiting for the right moment to purchase a huge collection if any pops up for sale if the price is right,(links anybody?) and put them in some kind of storage and make sure I have an actual copy of the game and do the "work" (dont ask me how) so I can preserve the actual games... I hope I dont make anyone mad by bring this senstive issue up...
if this isnt allowed pls give me a chance to edit this before banning me or anything O:-)

...if this is an Ninty approved console...
Since I think this is the main part of your post, this is what I'm going to reply to.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's not Nintendo approved by any stretch of the imagination. Nintendo is infamous for its hardline stance against unlicensed software and hardware. That said, I'm also pretty sure it's not strictly illegal. I'm no lawyer, though, so you can't quote me on that. Obviously these systems have quite a batch of fans (check out the Retro Duo for a similar device that people seem to like).

If your going to get one of these systems which I am going to soon go for the Retro Duo, it's much better than the FC Twin which doesn't play some games. I'm looking for somewhere that sells them in the UK.

Those things look really cool, But I think I prefer having the VC as my Main source of Retro Gaming

I happen to have one, thing cost me almost $60 too! But it was worth it, I've added more games to my NES collection, and right now the thing has Mega Man 3, and Street Fighter 2 in it, the NES sound is different though, because this thing has Stereo audio, (but the NES could only output mono sound); however if you take out one of the RCA audio cables, then it sounds like it usually does.
The SNES side is perfect, however some games that have special chips in them (Street Fighter Alpha 2, and Star Ocean); won't work because the chips do not load on start up, however it does play 2 of the Super FX games I own, which are Stunt Race FX, and Star Fox (Star Wing); the thing has been worth it to me, and it beats digging out the old NES or SNES (if I had either one, so hard to find now, well the SNES is); so yeah I've been happy with it.

If I bought one of these the main reason would be because it's multiregion (at least the Retro Duo is, I don't know about the FC Twin). If you're not importing games then I'd suggest you just go for an original SNES and original NES for full compatibility and because there's no collectible value in an unlicenced machine (unless you're collecting console clones, which some people probably do).
That Retro Duo looks interesting for us European gamers as well. Mario RPG works going by that video, which never got a European release and doesn't work on a modified PAL console, combined with being able to play European games (and in full screen by the looks of things) it might be worth a look. You'd need step down transformer and compatible TV.
whats the stance of the people around here on emulating games that they already own hard copies? does the copyright law state that I must own the consoles as well? I only want to do things the LEGAL way.Personally I prefer to play the actual games on a dedicated console, and if you own the games you may as well. I don't know why but it's somehow more fun putting a physical cartridge in a console than just selecting a game off a menu. The laws about emulation are confusing and vary between countries, but another advantage with playing the originals and not emulating is you don't have to worry about it.
