Yeah, kind of an odd thread but I still prefer the GCN version over the Wii version of the game. No matter how much Nintendo, the interweb, or other gaming sites want you to forget, IT IS STILL A GAMECUBE GAME TOO!!!
It is my favorite game to date and the fact that I can play it on my Wii and get the crisper, cleaner graphical look makes me even more happy. :D
Anyhow, has anyone else played this version of the game? What did you like or dislike?
Any other thought? Discuss...

Link using the right hand....
Yeah it sounds weird, but it was intentional.
I'm watching a friend of mine playing this (I beaten my Wii version time ago), and first time I saw it, I screamed: aaaahhh, this is the real Link, he's humble! [EDIT: I guess I didn't know what this word meant when I wrote it; anyway people understood what I was saying....]
If they added a mirroring option on the Wii, I would have liked to play it HIS style, with my sword in the left hand.
Also camera control is a great thing! If I had it, my run through the game would have been at least 10 hours longer (I do "things" in the real world while exploring places in games)!

I really can't play Gamecube versions of games that come onto the Wii since I own one. If something comes out for the Gamecube and the Wii, I'll pick the Wii version over the Gamecube one anyday. The control scheme for the Wii games have really changed the way I play.

I've heard that shooting the bow is easier on the GC version, particularly the target practice minigame to get the heart piece.
As for the right/left-handed thing, it never bothered me.

I haven't played the Gamecube version of this, but if the shooting is like in TWW then it's easily beaten by the Wiimote because you can do the aiming much faster.
And I also think Link should be left-handed, wouldn't matter to me if I used the right hand to swing Link's left one.

And I also think Link should be left-handed
Why, out of interest? It seems like such a minor point to me, but I've seen people getting really bent out of shape over it.

First of all, I can't stand the fact that I can't freely move the camera around on the Wii while I'm walking. I tend to mulit-task in games like these and stopping to look is kind of jarring. It almost throws you back to the OoT style of play.
Shooting the bow is a tad easier in the GCN version but I've also noticed that the overall difficulty is bumped up a notch on the GCN compared to the Wii version. That may have been on purpose though.
About the whole lefty thing, as one friend put it in an e-mail to me:
Link's been a southpaw since his debut on the NES; his depictions in all of his promotional artwork are as such, as well. People only brought it to notice at the time of OoT because, as I recall, there were a few promotional pieces of art that depicted Link as right-handed, which he was not. It's tradition, mate :)
It's like suddenly changing Harry Potter so that he starts wearing contacts.

Well, I would contend that due to sprite mirroring, Link is ambidextrous in the first game, but there we go.
Can't say it bothers me at all, to be honest.

in the wii version of TP, link was reborn as a right-handed boy.

aiming the bow is very easy in the wii version. i'd say easier than the gc version.
agreed on last point.
