Is it any better than Turtles I? Is it worth my time and money?

If you click on the PDF image in the right hand column of our TMNT II (http://www.vc-reviews.com/review/289/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-ii-the-arcade-game.php) page you can read what Mean Machines mag said about it at the time.

Basically it's the NES conversion of the arcade game. It's fun but not amazing. Personally I think the first TMNT on the NES stinks so I am going to say this is better, but it's far from amazing tbh.

It's an awesome beat-em-up from the arcades, much better than the NES original. I like to think of that one as a licensed piece of garbage.

The NES original is hard, but i'm having fun with it.

From the looks of this one, stay away mate. It looks like a really poor port of the amazing arcade game.

TMNT 3 looks naff too IMO. But 4 rocked :)

Yes, it's better than I, but is a completely different game style (II is based on the arcade beat-em-up). I really like the game, but the NES version isn't the best version; that said it's 99% likely to be the best version released to VC (not counting Hyperstone Heist and Turtles in Time, which use the same engine but are different games).

Oh yeah, its worth it. Its one awesome co-op game for the NES.

I don't think the NES one is 2 player, is it?

I believe it is two-player, but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I played it.

It's just that of all the footage I saw on youtube, non was 2 player.

Let's all be honest here. TMNT arcade was great. Turtles in Time was great. TMNT II on the NES was great when you were 8 and thought it looked good for the time. Now, it's crap. And certainly not worth 600 points considering all the other good games on the VC.

By the by, didn't Little Nemo come out at about the same time? That, on the other hand, was a great NES game :D

I hope Capcom releases Little Nemo. That was one of my favorite nes games of all time!

And yes, it is two player.

Yeah, I would be more likely to wait for Turtles in Time or Hyperstone Heist. Unless we get an arcade emulator on VC, and the original coin-op turns up.

Though the arcade game must rock, I don't feel like shelling out $400+ to download one single game. I'll be satisfied with the NES version.

Lol. Fair point. Although it has alot more than one arcade game.

I know. I was just referring to the TMNT arcade game alone.
