How good is it?

America got it on launch, but we don't get it until July which I'm very annoyed about, i'm really looking forward to it.

Does it live up to the billiant DS version?
How well do the controls work on it?

Discuss.

Edit: Several delays, and almost 9 months later, it finally comes out in EU!
Now I just need to get the money so I can afford it. >_<

Yeah, TC:SO is not as good as the original bercause sometimes controls get sloppy. But overall, its very fun.

I think it'll also be a big downside for me, but I have something wrong with using the remote.

If I'm typing or something it feels horrible and I just HAVE TO look away for a while.

It also happens if I'm trying to do something precise with the touch screen or a mouse or something I need really good aiming for.

I have no idea what it is, but it's horrible :(

I loved the original TC. I have a vested... professional... interest in this series :D so I'll get it when it comes out either way. I'm not expectig it to be as great as the DS game, but given the dearth of Wii releases so far, it's ok.

I tried playing the DS version again after completion but I found all the text too familiar and it got boring after a few operations :(

I'm looking forward to trying it. I love that we're seeing games like this, that aren't special forces or WWII shooters, or sports sims or the usual "hardcore" genres, and I don't think we'd be seeing if it weren't for Wii.

Yay. Another delay. I really don't understand why it's taking so long to come out here, the translators must be using dictionary's to translate it or something.

I still need to finish the DS one... I got stuck on the five patients operation, and have forgotten about it since <_< >_>

I still need to finish the DS one... I got stuck on the five patients operation, and have forgotten about it since <_< >_>I was on that one for a couple of months. It doesn't actually make you do all of them, I think it was just the 3 that I did.

I bought it in March, but haven't started to play it until...the other day. 8)

It's a good game, I like it better than the DS version.

I heard its best on the Wii because of control. I think its the same game as the DS with different controls and some bonus features like a new character or something. I might be getting a copy tonight.....we'll see.

I have the DS Version.
Couldn't complete that... i was on the very last mission with the spider.
I was stuck (it IS very friggin hard) but i wanted to beat it.
I saved my game on all the 3 slots.

Meanwhile my mother came and i showed her my new Trauma Center.
She started the first mission and beat it in her second try, then she said she couldn't go on, whats up?

and as i was looking on her DS .. my god, i saw she has overwritten all three slots with her stat. THE GAME IS OVER FOR ME!!! what a suckin save system!

Nevertheless the game was good enough to beat it 99%.
And I love the tension and the overall unique experience.
I get the Wii version on releasedate! (I want to beat a trauma center) ^^

I want this game so badly. My boss (who's actually a surgeon) plays the DS version and can S-rank some levels that I can't. Can't wait to beat him at this...

I just got this a week ago for my Bday. I'm enjoying it very much. There are a couple times of frustration from the controls. Mostly from your doctor's special ability (drawing a star on the screen). Other then that I like the story and gameplay....I've actually went back and replayed most surgeries at least twice. I'm still yet to beat it though.

My review score: 7.5/10

liked: story, gameplay is really fun, a very unique game, addictive, I'm pumped for the sequel

disliked: no multiplayer mode, very little voice work (mostly reading text), the controls are good but could have been worked on a little longer.

I'm thinking about it. I've yet to beat Second Opinion and I just picked up Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Strikers Charged so it will not be on the day it comes out for sure.

I was considering getting Second Opinion but I'm kind of unsure. I'm going to wait and see what New Blood is like.

Get it if you need a new game this week. It's got good reviews and a lot of added features making it better then the first.

I'm probably picking new blood up today if I can find it. I may have to get it from my local eb games if walmart doesn't have it. That would suck though because I hate giving that particular EB games my business because of how they have treated me in the past.

So I finally got around to trying TC:SO, and I must say, this game really does seem to be better left on the DS. I'm not that impressed by it, anyways. Thankfully, I got a used copy, which I will be returning today.

I totally disagree, although there are parts of the game that I'm sure would play out better on the DS, there are also aspects that can't be beat. The needle and scapel tools are the only two I can think of that would be better on the DS. The rest all belong on the Wii. I'm a little over half way done and so far I'm loving it. I have some trouble with the "healling touch" star but other then that it's sweet. I also got mine used....I think around $20 something???
