sorry if i was stupid to make a whole thread out of this. if nes stands for "nintendo entertainment system" then isn't it redundant to say "nintendo nes?" wouldnt that mean "nintendo nintendo entertainment system?"

But yes it would be dundetious to say 'Nintendo NES'.

I remember they called the SNES the "Super SNES" on Bad Influence back in the day.

Okay...I invented a word. I was bored at work at the time. What else are you going to do?

Thought it was close enough to redundant to get away with and was hoping to see it appear in the OED in a couple of years...thanks for spoiling the fun iNma... :(

Heh. If it's any consolation, I think it was well on its way to doing exactly what you described, given the reactions of people in here.
