Puzzle Bobble / Bust-a-Move is the same. And i dont think its pontless cos its not the same versions and they are cheaper to get than the Wii one(if it hits).

$30 instead of $80 is a good idea!
Well thats what the price in Australia is anyway, we are always expensive.

Well maybe is there any puzzle games for N64? They should just release some more games, I know there's not much N64 games but come on only 8. Let us have at least 10 before christmas.

At the mo, Ninty consider N64 games as BIG releases, so we ll proberly be stuck with 1 per month for awhile (Say, till they put Third Party games on it, or they run out of "good" titles).

As for Puzzlers, I reckon we ll see Pokemon Puzzle League as the first N64 Puzzle on VC. It kills 2 birds with one stone, both an N64 puzzler and a Pokemon game on the VC. ;D

I bet the first N64 puzzler on the VC is going to be Dr. Mario 64, since every single N64-VC-game so far has been available on the IQue and so is Dr. Mario 64.

Very true. Although, America was the only country that got it on the N64 (Japan got it on a GC Puzzle Collection, which only they got...)

But we'll get Sin & Punishment tomorrow which also only had a jp release so far, so why not? ;)
I actually doubt that any region is going to get an N64 game no other region gets.

But I don't really care that much, as I've got the Nintendo Puzzle Collection. ^^

True, but we got S+P as part of the Hanabi Festival promotion.

So why not having a thanksgiving festival for the VC in November with Dr. Mario 64 making the jump to Europe?

Angelic Lapras King

Could do, or Nintendo can just say "Ah hell with it" and make em part of the regular updates....

If you can't find anything on it on the vast internet it is usually telling the internet telling you, "No, it doesn't exist." Also. www.google.com

With the Wii Ware Dr. Mario coming out Dr. Mario 64 probably will not be released

Angelic Lapras King

Betcha it will. Thats like not releasing Super Mario Kart because of the Wii game or SSB because of SSBB

Has anyone played the N64 Tetris games? They were fun. Specifically Tetrisphere.

I was a big puzzle freak in the N64 days.

I still have most of them, but I played them all:

The good ones:

Tetrisphere (Nintendo/H20 Entertainment) - one of the best 3D puzzlers on earth. Great soundtrack, cool gameplay modes.

Wetrix (Zed Two/Ocean) - the second best 3D puzzle game. It's fast and genious, with amazing water effects. Also known as Aqua Aqua.

The New Tetris (Nintendo/H20 Entertainment) - this was my favourite Tetris game until Tetris DS arrived. There are a few but really good enhancements I still prefer over Tetris DS.

Pokémon Puzzle League (Nintendo) - Also known as Puzzle League or Tetris Attack, just with a Pokémon theme. Great game, but very hard in the last stages.

Bust-A-Move 3DX Arcade Edition (Taito) - Literally 1000 different selfmade levels from people around the world. Plus the whole arcade edition from 1999 with additional 4 player modes. A Puzzle Bobble fans dream.

The not so good ones:

Tetris 64 (Seta) - Japan only, comes with a Pulse Pak that reads your pulse with a little device you can clip to your ear. Apart from this feature it's just an average Tetris game.

Magical Tetris Challenge (Capcom) - Another average Tetris game with a Mickey Mouse theme. One of the few games Capcom developed for N64. In fact there's only this one and Mega Man 64 and Resident Evil 2.

I haven't played Dr. Mario 64 (US Only) and Nintendo Puzzle Collection (JP Only) but I think these would be rather good puzzle games.

Seeing as I got Tetrisphere, great game by the way, yet I would really like to try Wetrix again whenever they start releasing more than one N64 game a month. :sleepy:

Wetrix looks interesting, the name reminds me of Asterix

KeeperBvK

Wetrix really nice for an hour or so every once in a while, but it doesn't offer enough to get you really hooked longer than that.

SKTTR

Wetrix is really nice for a long time.

You have to build walls around a platform, because soon after water is dropping in. And you shouldnt let the water find a way down that platform.
so you build a wall all around. and put the water in the middle.
eventually you want to score more points and build a higher wall, so more water can be filled into that big lake.
or you want to multiply your score and build many little lakes.
if the lakes are deep enough there coming ducks, multiplying your score once again.
and to round it up, there are fire meteors you can move into a lake to dry them up. and you have to use them, because the playing field can't hold too much water and drying up lakes gives you the most points.

this game is excellent because of this and a good portion of other things.

occassionally you get "downers" to put down wrong placed walls or mountains. these are good to make more room for water where a wall was instead.

then there are bombs. they blew a hole through the platform! always have room for them to land, especially at the corner of the playing field, the place where you throw all the stuff that you don't need at the time.
if such a bomb lands in the water, all that water is rushing out that lake.
if too much water runs off the platform it's game over.
but by drying them up using fire meteors you get new life energy.

there are some other cool little details but enough explanation.

on to the bottom line: this is no game with sensless story, thousands of game modes or something blewn up with minigames. it's a hardcore puzzle game: a unique idea for an innovative, fast, challenging and addicting puzzle game. and you build something up. and you try different things. and you always have the feeling and the urge to create something new. you have 3 different modes, a 2 player game, and you can put your highscore on the official website (through a password for your score). the graphics are awesome for a puzzle game. it's 3D but thanks for the shadows, they indicate where your pieces will land, yeah. and thanks for the easy controls, just move the pieces around and turn them clock/counterclockwise with 2 buttons.
the water effects were the nicest since Wave Race 64. the backgrounds were like what you think of LSD trips, and the soundtrack was just ambient and cool.
i bought it for 20Euro and it was worth it.
And it's definately worth the 1000 Wii Points.

You love puzzle games? You only play for fun and highscores?
5/5 Stars
