I loved this game on SNES (which also featured yoshi), it's one of the best puzzle games ever in my opinion, it kept me going for hundreds and hundreds of hours and holds many fond memories for me. :D
It's very similar to Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the GameBoy Colour (damn me for swapping that  ) and I hope it gets a VC release very soon.

I don't believe I ever got around to playing Tetris Blast. I'm not going to download many puzzle games so I'm not sure if I'd check it out on the VC. Hopefully friends of mine still have it.

Wow how in the world did this one get buried. Where is all the love? Best puzzler ever. Period. I'm not even going to explain myself because those who have played it already know.

It's risen from the dead XD
I can't say if it's the best puzzler or not as I'm a fan of about 4 and don't feel like thinking it over. I need to play it again soon!
Oh, and scrap the thing I said about a VC release, I got the SNES back in my room ages ago ;)

They need a license from The Tetris Company in order to publish it with that name... And that's the only thing that keeps them from releasing it, really.

Japan just got Panel De Pon. I really do hope we get it as Tetris Attack instead. And if not we better at least get Panel De Pon.

Never played this, but I did play Pokemon Puzzle League and Challenge and enjoyed them very much. ^^

Ah well I believe its pretty much the same thing just Pokemon characters copied and pasted to the game.

Well, Puzzle League did introduce the 3D mode and lots of different modes to play within the game.

You got that right.
The only game that comes close in this genre is Puzzle Quest.
