Justice would make it relased in Europe.......you will have to wait until Prime 3 is out here.
Hope Nintendo is kind as the last time and give us Prime 3 just 5 days later than you.
Anyway, I'm dreaming of Metroid 5 to be the real surprise. Remember Prime+Fusion?
(And I give credit to DesuEx fans just if they played System Shock 2); I'm bad today.

I have it for SNES too. My SNES is buried in my basement somewhere and I don't feel like digging around for it, I have other responsibilities and don't have hours to waste searching for an old video game console. It's much more convenient to spend $8 to play a game that I love on the Wii anytime I want.

so this was the last of the 2D metroid games i completed (kinda funny, i played Metroid 2 on the GBA when I was a kid, so that counts) and i have to say after completing it, it truely is the best of the 2D Metroids (IMO) just because how big it is, took me 6 hours on my first run through, I got lost a couple of times but I'm much much better at playing Metroids now after going through all the GBA ones (like knowing to shoot and bomb walls and look for breakable walls and stuff).
I just got a question tho:
is it actually possible to get stuck in a metroid game? i've yet to find an area with no way out

As I know, there's only one place where you can get stuck, and it's in Fusion.
yoshi175 may have needed to restart his game, but getting inside that conduct means he had to make a couple of nice tricks, so at least he should feel an elite player (ok, that's nothing related to the shinespark of the secret message, but it needs you to master some tricks).
@The shoemaker
While Retro did a miracle porting the perfect feeling of Metroid into the Prime series, they're anyway 2 different series. I can't tell you one is best than the other (while I'm crazy for 2D) but keep in mind that if you really want the most similar experience to Super Metroid you have to get the GBA games.

oh yeah another quick question, im not sure if this is super metroid related or more related to zero mission. I've learned most of the cooler moves in the game, wall jumping, shinespark jumping and stuff, but how do you chain shinesparks? also, how do you exactly control the shinespark jump? usually i just charge up and press every button on my controller madly and hope he goes somewhere, usually i just have to go up so its not a huge problem, but there have been some instances where i was getting ****ed cuz he wouldn't shinespark left/right or in a diagonal direction

OK, I don't think it's possible in Super Metroid.
The shinespark works in quite different ways, I'll try to explain all without getting confusion......hopefully.
Everything starts with RUN and STORING your energy pushing down (if you can't do this, well give up!).
Normal: Push jump at neutral poisition, just after she hops, push the direction where to jump. (not the 3 down directions though).
Jumping: If you push a direction simultaneously to jump, you will somersault in perfect Samus' style withouth Shinesparking. To SP while jumping, and so SP at different heights, push DOWN and JUMP, then choose your direction.
Chained: When already SPing if you hit a slope Samus will start running again, and so giving you the possibility to charge again. (Actually I'm not sure if chaining is available in Super, and from office -where I am- I can't check gaming sites right now...)
Additionally in Zero Mission you can even SP while in ball form, all you need is the High Jump upgrade. It's used in the same way as the normal SP.
(I'm not sure, but I don't remember this to be done in Fusion...)
Keep in mind that after charging you have a small amount of seconds to perform your Shinespark, or you'll lose your stored energy.
During this time, Samus will blink and she can perform every normal action she normally does EXCEPT jumping in place which would activate the Shinespark.
[EDIT]
I'm adding a link to a great Metroid site.

...don't know the original but if you prefer you can change them to French; I'm going to do it, because those strange long words distract me, I know French and I can 'see' the text without fearing it's a Space Pirate in disguise....(got a fervid fantasy, I admit it).
What's the "sprint ability" anyway?
I played just 14 mins before going to bed yesterday, but I know the game and settings quite well. Maybe you intended the 'Dash'?

Too late Nintendo, too late. If you'd released the game a few months ago, when I didn't have Halo 3 and the ridiculously addictive Puzzle Quest to keep me active, I'd have gobbled up the excellent Super Metroid. As it stands, however, I'm just ****ed off that you gave the game to America months before we in the UK got it, and that you left it until the middle of the 4th quarter, when all the great games are usually released these days, to let us have it. Far too late, Nintendo.

And there's another door when you walk in you have to run or the wall will close on you.(its more like a poll) and I keep running but theres another poll that closes but I cant make it in time. how do I get through? does any one have a clue what I'm talking about? If you do please help.

I admit I don't know if this is superfluous....
Everyone who is stuck somewhere should seek for hidden passages.
Every Metroid game has plenty of them (at least starting from Metroid II).
I'm saying it may be superfluous because I already found a lot in Super Metroid and I just beaten Kraid.
It seems to me that all of you (and someone in the chatbox, yesterday) have played more than me, so it is difficult that you didn't notice them.
Sorry, I'd really like to have an answer for all of you, just give me some weeks (yes weeks, I don't want to finish it too quickly!!!) and I'll be as a talking 100% walkthrough.
Ok Im sorry Im useally a guy who figures things out but I need help in this game. I've been stuck in the same place for 2 months now and its driveing me insain. I'm pretty sure im near the beginning my mission is find the metriod larva and I just got the ability where it allows you to jump a bit higher. I have the missile and the bigger missile. Sorry anyone for the double post, I just figured it out where you are.
You have to take the Varia Suit now.
Don't bother about the shutters room for now. I guess you need the Speed Boosters.
Where's the Varia anyway? ...er.....I already don't remember, but if you didn't beat Kraid go for him. Look at the map and go towards Maridia on the right of the screen-map. It should be somewhere there...or after that fight....

You tell 'em. (http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:dVk8blwet2kJ:wiiportal.nintendo-europe.com/29.html)

I'm really enjoying this so far, just got the Super Missile. There's so much exploring that it gets really complicated at times though!

i dont know for sure, but it seems EU got an enhanced version of the PAL Super Metroid with less borders.
And also, I noticed the game info in the Wii Shop mentions it has only English screentext but my version has German/French/English screentext just like the original.
Usually, if a game has German screentext, there is no message about the language at all.
There was a German/French version of Landstalker too, but the game info in the Wii Shop tells you it's English only. I don't know if that's correct, since I haven't downloaded Landstalker.

**Progress, may be spoilers?***
Got the Ice beam, I've just beaten the boss that was in the wreaked ship, and restored power to it, got the Gravity suit and saved. Anyone got the hidden spazzer beam upgrade yet?, I have. also have about 60 missiles, 15 super missiles, and 10 power bombs, 7 energy bars( i think), and I have the Grapple beam, plus the Reserve energy tank.

Yes, I got the Spazer just after I got the Charge Beam. It was before I got the High Jump Boots or got to Kraid.
You can get it with the Wall Jump.

Just got the Screw Attack, that damn clawfish boss, was a ***** to battle, till i figured out the easy way to kill him. Headed deep into Noifar(or whatever it's called) and got greeted to a nice tune(yay magmoor caves orginal tune), got just under 100 missiles, about 30 super missiles, 20 super bombs, X-ray, Space Jump, and Plasma beam, I completed one row of engery tanks, and got one more, forgot the number, man getting 100% must be tough, I'm sure i've only got about 75% - 80%.

I don't think so....I mean your percentage.
I'm talking on the basis of other Metroid games, but if you just completed 1 row of energy, and you're probably the same way half about missiles and power bombs, well that would sound more likely a 50% by now.....
In my first Fusion run, I thought I found a ot of items, also I had great experience on ZM so I was really confident in my ability, but then it was a mere 69%.....
Remember that a lot of items are accessible only with your full powers, so be ready to travel again ALL Zebes when you're at the top of your powersif you wish to get above 80%.
Doing a 100% is not that hard. It can be long. It's just losing time (quarters of hour) on some difficult room to get an item, repeat and rerpeat and repeat....
You just have to know the game very well. You have to know where to look and what to look for.
I don't know if SM is the same as the GBA games (I think so, though), but from your second run on, in those 2 games you have addictional infos on how many tanks there are to be found in any area.
That's the clear invitation to complete the game.

Can't tell for sure, but it may just be nothing.....
If you press R and go to the Status screen, the R button shows....nothing. Exactly like L in the map.
So, I think it's just to switch the pages. Don't know for sure, anyway!!!!!
