Well, I still dont have a Wii and thus, no access to the Virtual Console service. But I do have access to Ebay and its many treasures! So recently I purchased and obtained Donkey Kong Country and Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo. I would like to share my thoughts with you on both these games to persuade you to give them a go (even though I don't believe Super Metroid is available yet) on the Virtual Console.

Super Metroid:
I have made it through about three hours of this game. The graphics are great, music terrific, and sound effects are good. Just good. Anyway, I was thrilled when this got to my house and immediately proceeded to shove it into my SNES. About an hour into the expierience (which was laced with boss battles, powerups and fun) I was convinced that this was one of, if not the best, Metroid title. But man, the music! This music is eerie man. I haven't heard things like this on my SNES. Ever. If the game holds up the adventure-action heavy momentum it has been throwing at me for the past three hours then this will rank high in my list of "must buy". Look, if I spent 24 dollars on it, you guys can afford to spend 800 points when it's out!

Donkey Kong Country:
Rare. What a great company. Anyway, along with Super Metroid came a copy of DKC. As another supposedly excellent game I have miussed for whatever reason, I was quick to buy it, and with what luck! From the same seller as Super Metroid. Saved on shipping :) So I turn this game on and am invited into it by a funny intro with fabulous pre-rendered sprites and awesome music for the midi beats that the SNES could dish out. Then I get to the first level on the colorful overworld. The graphics hold up to the intro even! Spectacular. I spend a good chunk of time exploring the game which is abundant in secrets and felt overall satisfied with what my money gave me. The platforming is solid, the music and grpahic WAY ahead of its time, and the length is pretty good for a game like this. If you haven't already purchased this one, I'd reccomend it. Especcially if you love the platforming days of old.

So there's my input on the games I bought. Both together totalling about 35 dollars. What is it for you guys to buy these both in American currency? 16 dollars? I think you can sacrifice that cash for these gems.

I think you will find the general consensus on these boards agrees wholeheartedly with your own sentiments.

As a friendly note: there is an official recommendation thread in the VC forum where you could post this. It would likely be more appreciated there.

N.B. Euros or Pounds for the vast majority of us, not dollars. The Swedes persist with their Kronas, but there you go.

If it is $16 over here, we're better off downloading it for the same price. I've already downloaded Donkey Kong Country and looking forward to the VC release of Super Metroid.

Kronor

Kronor

Breaking news: being Swedish, I knew that. Basic linguistic rule: when translating, pluralise the singular. Hence, the English translation of the Swedish singular Krona is Kronas, or taking the simile further, Crowns.

Unless the word in question is an exception to the grammatic rule, which is the case here.
Krona is not pluralized with the suffix -s. That would make a genetive (along with an apostrophe in English of course), not plural.
