I just downloaded Super Mario World in th virtual console service. Unfortunately the game plays with an headache inducing severe flicker which renders it praticaly unplayable.

I have a Sony Trinitron CRT TV in which the Wii is connected to by a Nintendo official RGB cable. Has anyone has had this issue?

This is an European wii but i doubt this has to do with the dreaded 50hz issue. Nintendo really has to sort out this thing because i think i just threw 30 euros (including the classic controller) to the bin.

Check the shop channel again, there may be an update. I read somewhere that some SNES games got updates to play on HDTVs in Europe. Perhaps that's the problem you're experiencing.

If you're on a wireless internet connection there might've been some problems while downloading and therefore it missed some files. Try to remove and redownload it and see if it works. I guess there shouldn't be any problems with non-HD TVs but there's a way to run the game in Interlace Mode (some kind of button combination that I don't know) so you might want to try that as well. Otherwise you just have to wait for Nintendo to answer.

ive never experienced that issue before and ive DL almost 80 games. all i can think of is trying an update and going from there. you might want to call nintendo, theres a better chance of getting through to someone, at least in my case it easier to cantact someone. I hope things work out for you, Super Mario World is one of my all time favorite games, and deffinately not a waste of money.

Nintendo doesn't reply so i guess i've been screwed. Honestly, maybe it's just the PAL issue, but i don't remembering it being so headache inducing. And i really can't turn the interlaced mode (which i guess that isn't the problem since my TV is CRT).

I have also erased the game and re-downloaded it to no avail...

That's the spirit, but you should have told them to let you download a 60Hz version, as well. The 50Hz versions should be an option, so this kind of stuff doesn't happen.

I really doubt they're experiencing this kind of problems in the US or Japan.
