My one does not read "1986-2003".

I know why, Because they downloaded the GameCube Port. Somehow I downloaded the "Original Nes Game".
I'm realy happy with mine I wanted this one but how did I get this? Can somebody tell me please.

I think one says 2003 because that's the year when the GBA Classic NES series version was released.

So where are you from? And who got the GameCube revision running on the VC, exactly?

I've had the VC version of Zelda since the Wii launched here in the US and it's the GCN/GBA classic series version. No difference to the game really, just the opening text is redone to read better and correct the NES versions misspelling of Gannon to the correct spelling, Ganon. I wish they did this with the Zelda II and Metroid releases though. Spelling Zebes, Zebeth annoys me to no end.

US have the GC/GBA version. EU/PAL got the 1986 version.

Looks like the only reason is that the "new" version was NTSC, and they couldn't bother making a PAL version out of it.

So don't expect many NTSC-to-PAL conversions from them. =\

Sounds like the reason why.

They didn't do it for the NTSC Zelda II release though which also had a better translation on the GCN disc/GBA Classic Series cart.
