I rented this game about two months ago and I have to admit...I kind of miss it. Despite the mediocre reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed rippin the slopes up with the wii mote and nunchuck and thought it controlled way better than what most reviews gave it. It just took some getting used to. Ive seen that nobody has posted anything about it so I thought we should give this underrated title (IMO) some attention. I never played the previous ones in the series so this may or may not be that great compared to them but it's at least worth a rental. Get past the learning curve and I guarantee you will at least enjoy this for a rental's length. The music is worth the rental price alone. Seriously. Anyone else have some feedback they could provide? Positive or Negative.

I bought this the day it came out. In fact, after Wii Sports and Zelda, it was the first game I bought.

I love all the SSX games from Tricky onwards, and once you get used to the control method in Blur, it works really well. The graphics and gameplay is a return to the style of Tricky as well, which was welcome for me, as great as SSX3 and On Tour were. I'd agree, a criminally underappreciated game that at its best demonstrates exactly how games can be improced with the Wii controls.

With that said, the slaloms are still the most infuriating thing in the world...

Yea I thought the controls were great. The Wii really can add an immersion factor to certain games unrivaled by the other two next gens. The combo system, while simple, still felt very rewarding. Although i'd still prefer a more complex combo system to add a little depth to the game, they were still on the right track with this one it seems. It will be interesting to see what the next iteration in the series will be like. High hopes on this end.

Oh and is it just me or is this the one of the prettiest if not the prettiest Wii title yet. While it still doesn't break the GC mold, the art style is suited perfectly for the Wii. A simple but great art style and excellent animations can do wonders for a game. The "blur" (no pun intended) effect when racing helps as well.

Yea I tried to steer clear of the slaloms. It didn't work very well using the nunchuck for those races. I imagine it would be easier by switching the movent to the joystick. Man, all this talk really wants me to play it again. Might have to make a lil trip to gamestop this weekend.

I am a huge fan of snowboarding and the SSX series and have bought every one of the games on release date.

While I think Blur is a good game it just isnt as good as any of the previous games in the franchies bar the original IMO.

I'm thinking of picking this up possibly with mario strikers soon. For some reason there has been a price drop in the US on it so it's only 29.99 new now at all major retailers. It definitely seems like it'd be worth the money to me, anyone else want to convince me one way or the other?
