I wasn't sure whether to download it or not for ages, but I decided to just go ahead and do it, and I sure am glad I did! :D

It's a brilliant game, and I can see it taking me a very long time to finish! I'm currently on room 14, I think there's supposed to be around 50.

Well worth the 500 points.

I had fun with this on my NES. I might not download it though.

Solomon's Key is a freaking awesome game and one of my all-time favourites from way back on the Spectrum.

Totally brilliant level design spanning across 50+ rooms and absolutely none of them feel repetitive. This is action puzzling at its finest and I honestly can't find fault with this one besides minor issues with the level order for this version, but all in all, it's one of the best.

I've played this so much since downloading it on the VC that I can finish the game from start to finish without a game over (and get the best ending too).

It makes me happy to see this underrated and underappreciated title exposed to a new audience via the VC.

I'm completely stuck where I am now. I think it's room 17. There's a set of square blocks with those fast things whizzing around them. I've tried getting them onto the same block to clear some of them to walk on, but I still end up running out of time or getting hit.
I know that was a bit of a bad explanation...

I found a sequel of sorts, it was a Monster Rancher game by the same company (TECMO)

It was called Monster Rancher Explorer. It was quite fun, and hard too, I think I got to what was it, 70 something?

I think it had like 80 levels... maybe 100...

You could also make maps, but I think it requires link, and only 3, I think... I never used it.

Mendez, the trick to passing this stage is to take each step one at a time.

From the starting point, create a block in front of you and stand on it. Now, create two blocks on both sides of you to surround yourself and protect yourself from the fireball. Wait until the coast is clear and move onto the next block. Repeat the same thing (create blocks on both sides of you to protect yourself and wait for the fireballs to pass each time).

Sorry if this is a bit vague, but the main thing is simply to let those flames pass over you, surround yourself with blocks and carefully manuovre your way across to the left. Once that's done, the rest of the level should be manageable. Hope this helps!

Oh, and there is a sequel to Solomon's Key for the NES called
Fire 'n Ice which revolves around using ice to destroy flames. Not as good as Solomon's Key but still pretty decent

That was the sequel? I had no idea! How come they didn't call it Solomon's Key 2?

They actually did call it 'Solomon's Key 2' in Europe. :)
