Lets compile a list of SNES games that are virtually unplayable with the GameCube Controller. Seeing as I don't actually know many, I'll just kick it off with:
Super Mario World.
Not virtually unplayable, but you're going to have to use a 'claw' hand position to run and jump. Ugly.
Now more people can add to it.
Donkey Kong Country 1/2 are apparently a bit of pain to play with the GC Controller too.

i dont even want to see how the GC controller plays on other games after trying out Super Mario World. its a horrible experience, making the most simplist of tasks damn near impossible to execute.

Thing is, those games would be perfectly playable in a GC controller if only the VC allowed to map Y-B to B-A, and X-A to Y-X. =\
As a fun fact, not having this option makes SMW the only Mario game in the VC that doesn't use the A and B buttons for jumping and throwing, respectively.
