Got in first with the wishlist thread! :D
Er, anyway, what SMS and/or GG games would you like to see on VC.
I wants Fantasy Zone, Shinobi, R-Type, every RPG made for the system, as unlikely as that is (:(), and other stuff which I'll get to later when I remember them.
GETTING IN FIRST FTW! :p

IMHO there is more than the N64, but with that said, I've never been a fan of the N64. (PSX FTW.)
If anyone reads Retro Gamer, issue 44 had a great article on the SMS.
For a list of SMS games, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sega_Master_System_games.
I have no idea how complete the list is.

I'm waiting for Shinobi, Lucky Dime Capers (might never happen though), Alex Kidd and even for Cyber Shinobi, just for the sake of nostalgia. ^^
...but that's just about it.

Is the MS Sonic 1 different to the MD one? Anything that the MD also had would be better off with that version surely, like Castle of Illusion. Are you thinking of Road Rash? Wasn't that on the MD as well?

Most of the Sonic games on the MS/GG were entirely different from the MD (Well, except Mean Bean Machine...)

Wonder Boy 3 and Psycho Fox would be nice.

Fair enough, is that the same for other games they share versions of? I'm not up on the MS at all, I almost bought one a few years ago on a retro collecting phase but held off.

I'm actually thinking of Hang on. I think it was one of the launch titles but is really good and keeps you going back for more. Road Rash on Amiga rocks but thats another story.

In most cases, if there is a game that's on both Master System and Mega Drive, the MS version has scaled down graphics and sound, and some gameplay changes (one player instead of two, etc); in those cases, you may as well pick up the MD version.
But there are some cases, and the Sonic titles are a good example of this, where the games are completely different to their MD cousins and are often just as good in their own way.

Maybe the Genisis game was more faithful, but was it more fun (serious question)?

As I've said, I've never played the Genesis version to compare. I've never heard anything negative about it though.

I'd love to see Phantasy Star, the as-yet unreleased Sonic games (Chaos, Triple Trouble) and Wonderboy in Monster Land, and that'd be about it. As far as GG goes, I'd love to see Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Gunstar Heroes, Shining Force and, if we're really lucky, translations of the Phantasy Star and Lunar GG games.

Shining Force CD was a remake of the two Shining Force GG games. On one hand I'd much rather see the nice revamps available on the VC (mainly because I want Sega CD games on there), but on the other hand it would be kind of sucky because I just paid $$$$ to get Shining Force CD on eBay...

I can see that logic, but at the same time, Sin and Punishment fans didn't really seem to complain. There were also three Shining Force games for GG (the first two that were remade for SFCD as well as one that came out afterwards called Shining Force: Final Conflict, with only the second GG game actually getting an English translation), which is why I mentioned the GG games. I do agree that SFCD is the more likely candidate for release, I just wonder if it fits within the 50mb limit (I know for a fact that Sonic CD doesn't:mad:)

I would hope that the CD games could be compressed more efficiently, especially something like Shining Force CD, which doesn't use a lot of FMV or audio samples.
