In the early 90s Sega really had the knack of marketing. As evidenced in this commercial from British TV:

TO BE THIS GOOD TAKES AGES! :p

I remember there were a series of them, including a specific Sonic 2 advert, all tied into a loose storyline. And I seem to recall that there were some alternate versions, where the events of the ad would play out slightly differently.

Great ad campaign, much better than the creepy "possessed telly" thing they did for the Master System: Do me a favour; plug me into a Sega! :small-boo:

Yeah, I remember that! Horrible

The Sega Rap (http://www.meanmachinesmag.co.uk/feature/2/sega-mastermix-90.php) was good though! :p

This slogan is awesome! I didn't get it until I saw the video.
Anyway, I can't understand exactly what this advert was about....just a general SEGA advert, right?

Yeah, just a general Sega ad, I think. There was one specifically for the Game Gear, and one for Sonic 2, but generally they were just for Sega rather than a specific product. The campaign at the time was that Sega was tough and cool, whereas Nintendo was for kiddies, so you'd get lots of this Mad Max style stuff in Sega advertising.

Fact: The guy who was the 'hero' of the cyber razor cut ads is now in UK TV show Holby City...or Casualty, I can't remember which.

Yeah, is he the bloke who was in the Highlander TV series too? I think he might be.

This is one they did as a promotional for the Mega CD. It's pretty long. But, in the same vein as the Cyber Cut thing.
