how to return to wii menu from GC mode?

I cant seem to figure out how to return to the Wii menu when I'm done with a GC game, I always have to turn off the wii then turn it back on. can somebody tell me a better way? Ive had my wii since Jan 2007 and still hasnt figured this out!! I'm unable to use the home button or even the remote at all!

me either but sometimes I have my dog sleeping on my lap while playing and it can be a pain in the *** to move the dog then press the power button when I could just use the remote... guess its something ninty didnt take into account.. no big deal tho..

When you start up a GC game, the Wiimote gets shut off.

It's not really a big deal. I'm just happy they put full backwards compatibilty on the Wii, instead of the half-ass jobs the PS3 and 360 did.

I just wish Nintendo would re-release the Wavebird or a similar controller. The cord on a standard GC controller is very short.

I think you are right, there should be a way to get right back to the Wii menu after playing GC, I agree it's a pain in the ****. And I too have the dog in the lap problem as well. ;)

yeah I cant seem to find a wireless GC full sized controller since my hands are a bit too big for the kiddie sizes controllers.. I have a wavebird but cant find the plug in.. anybody got a spare? I could send someone a vc game? (USA)

Eject the GC game then hit reset, at least your not turning the power on and off a lot. unless resetting has the same effect (system wear and tear) as turning on the system.

if you reset the wii with the GC game still in, it will just reset the GC game.

Sadly there is no way to return to the Wii Menu while playing GCN games. The reason is because the Wii has the Cube architecture on board, so when you are playing a GCN game the Wii is not emulating the Cube hardware like it does with the VC consoles, it literally reverts back to being a Cube.

Yeah it's kind of annoying, I might just sound lazy, but if you can't return to the wii menu, It'd be nice if you could turn it off with the wiimote.

The thing is though that once you start up a Cube game, the Wii for all intents and purposes is a Gamecube. You couldn't turn a Gamecube on and off with a Wii Remote in the same way you can't turn the Wii off with the remote when it thinks it's a Cube.

As annoying as it may be, at least Wii has full backwards compatibility, something PS3 and 360 lack.
