Good news for all who loved playing SSBM with the GC controller. Nintendo has re-released a New Gamecube Controller White for Wii with 3 meter cable (50% longer). Currently it's only available in Japan, but lets hope they decide to make it a global release.:)

A bit odd they didn't make it wireless tho...
It's possible to order from http://www.play-asia.com/

I would prefer a wireless GC controller that isnt as ugly as the Wavebird, but more cable length and in white, both good things. I can barely play GC games, since the cable is so short I run the risk of yanking the Wii from its perch to crash upon the floor. And with my 32 inch LCD TV, you have to sit quit far away to have the graphics not look pixellated and horrible

Cool, I might buy one soon since my current one has started to go weird.

Ancient (but awesome) news. I'm still considering getting one of these, myself. If my Wavebird nets me enough dough on eBay this week, I'll be putting my order down at Play Asia.

Dude, the wavebird was AWESOME. But yeah, that is cool.

I dig the wavebird, too, but I only need one of them. Wouldn't mind a less battery-eating controller with rumble as a backup, and this whitey could be a good candidate.

Dang it, just go to your local Target or Gamestop and pick one up. Why people keeps saying they've been discontinued, I have no idea. They will not run out of new controllers anytime soon. I personally prefer the Madcatz game controllers to the official Ninty ones anyway, plus they are cheaper, too. Madcatz makes the controllers in two sizes, large for big hands, and the Microcon for kids and people with smaller hands (I got a Microcon for my fiance and like three full-sized ones for myself).
In my opinion, the official controllers are overpriced and do not have the textured grips, which helps keep the controller from sliding out of my hands if my palms get sweaty.
Oh, and by the way, you may want to hurry and get a used extension cable (or two) before they run out of them for good.

I don't need a gamecube controller. CC is good enough for me when playing VC games, and I never play GCN Games, and I use the Wiimote and Nunchuk for Brawl.

I've got one of these white fellahs in the mail right now from Play-Asia. Shipped today.

Keepgaming.com has these bad boys for $21.99. I picked up 4 for my Wii setup. Nothing beats the matching Gamecube controller for Backwards Compatability, Super Mario 64 (VC), Super Smash 3 Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii.

I think my GC Controller (http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Hardware/Accessory/~r329926/GAMEware-Nintendo-GameCube-Control-Pad-for-Nintendo-Wii-White/) is just fine.
It's pretty comfortable. It has 2 'Z' buttons but the cord is quite short. I might look for one of those Thrustmaster GC Controllers.

While I already have 4 GCN controllers I did see this at the video game, manga/anime, comic, collectible, tabletop game, etc swap meet by my house last Saturday at one of the import game booths (I live in the Los Angeles, CA area, FYI).
I don't remember the price offhand, since I went to the booth in hopes of finding the DS paddle controller for Arkanoid and Space Invaders Extreme. But I can check the price tomorrow (since they only operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays) if anyone is really interested... I can also see if the guys there do postal orders as well.

For those of you who don't dig harnessing your Wii, check this one out:

From what I've heard it is quite robust and a good alternative to the thrustmaster wireless controller! Of which, by the way, I own 2ea and they do work just fine with my VC and Wii games.
I put 2 of the BlazePros on my wishlist, however, to boost my Mario Kart capabilities to a full wireless 4-Player setup :D
Wires are not an option anymore!!!

They should have put every existing track in that game. ;)
Anyway, my whitey isn't here yet, but I'm patiently waiting. I think it'll be nice to have a slightly lighter, rumbly, battery-free controller for brawling.

Personally I love the wavebird and would take decent wireless over rumble anyday. Batteries aren't a problem for me as I have lots of rechargables and it's only the wii-remotes that go through them relatively quickly.
If a white, rumble Wavebird was released I would buy it straight away though

Yeah, I always have my trusty Wavebird. But I'm willing to give wired a shot as well, and that way at least I will have the choice.
I don't really care about rumble in the Wavebird—its lack is one of the reasons they get such amazing battery life!

I'll stick with my Wavebird, thanks. No wires to deal with and excellent battery life.
