This is a thread dedicated to RARE Ltd.'s phenomenal catalogue of N64 games.
Here's a list of Rare's N64 titles:
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Blast Corps
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
GoldenEye 007
Jet Force Gemini
Killer Instinct Gold
Mickey's Speedway USA
Perfect Dark
All of these games were INCREDIBLE!
Banjo-Kazooie is my all-time favorite game. It will always have a special place in my game history from my childhood.
Please vote on the poll and post why you chose that game.

I've played:
Banjo-Kazooie - Great, well-balanced, long, fun. Awesome. Beats SM64. 10/10. My pick.
Banjo-Tooie - Adds way too much and as a result becomes extremely boring. Big mess-up here. 6/10.
Conker's Bad Fur Day - Good, some interesting ideas, but clunky control and some incredibly annoying/difficult parts. 8/10.
Diddy Kong Racing - Great, best racer on the N64 I've played. Multiple vehicles, great tracks and awesome adventure mode ftw. 9/10.
Donkey Kong 64 - Oh dear. Take Banjo-Tooie, replace the characters with DK characters and add EVEN MORE and you get this. Sorry, but I got every single thing the first time I played it, and now every time I try to play it again I can't even get past the tutorial barrels at the start before getting bored. 4/10.
GoldenEye 007 - My favourite FPS of all time. Extremely addictive, great multi, you'll want to beat every mission on every difficulty in single player and unlock all cheats (I did). 10/10.
Perfect Dark - Good, but the main game is relatively boring compared to GoldenEye IMO. Multi's great just like GE. 8/10.
Haven't played these:
Blast Corps
Jet Force Gemini
Killer Instinct Gold
Mickey's Speedway USA

B-K>SM64
Banjo had great, original Characters.
So what if people say it ripped off SM64, it improved on it tenfold!
It's a pity you haven't played JFG.
It's great, download a rom.

Jet Force Gemini was great, it was what all of the other Starship Troopers games should have been. The only game on the list I didn't get a chance to play was Conker's Bad fur day. oh well

It's an all-out travesty that Banjo-Kazooie and Goldeneye are tied at present. Goldeneye 007 was THE greatest game for the N64. It's just too bad we'll never see any of these games on the VC except maybe DK64.

Oh man, look at all the people who have never played Blast Corps. Its a shame we won't be seeing it cause I can guarantee everyone here would enjoy it immensely. There were so many great original ideas that came to life with this game. Sigh....

Killer Instinct Gold own it/100%
Yes I own it. I own everything from Rare, except one.
Anyway, Rare was next to Nintendo the best developer in the N64 time.
And KI Gold is the best fighting game. I loved the arcade, and even
though the arcade port was better, I wanted it for my home console.
I already got the SNES and Super Game Boy version of Killer Instinct 1.
This is fan biased but the gameplay and combosystem is killer. 5 Stars

Blast Corps own it/90% - Don't think this is bad coz I only beat it 90%.
The other 10% are platinum medals for Blast Corps hyperfreaks.
This is a very unique action/strategy game about rammin,
bombin and crushin everything that blocks the path of an
driving atombomb thats outta control.
the tension of this game is great.
finding your own strategy is hard in later levels.
a top game like everything made by Rare. 5 Stars

Diddy Kong Racing - own it/100% a half year after Mario Kart 64 this one came out.
everything we had for winter. no not everything.
Mischief Makers came also in late '97. That was a great game!
But this one is still a disappointment. Everything we were looking for was another Mario Kart 64,
this was different and worse. Soloplayer was better but multiplayer was no fun at all.
The weapons, the racing tracks... It had aeroplanes and hovercrafts and storymode, but no.
It was not what we expected. The gameplay is shabby against Mario Kart 64.
It's not so bad as it sounds. Soloplayers enjoy what was lacking in Mario Kart 64. 3 Stars

GoldenEye 007 own it/100% A few months after the multiplayer disappointment that diddy kong racing was,
this one was imported from england. mario kart 64 defined summer 97, goldeneye defined 98.
5 Stars This was and is in my opinion the best first person shooter ever. Facility rules earth.

Banjo-Kazooie own it/100%
One of the best platformers on the N64, I loved this game and even today it's a great platformer. 5 Stars
http://www.mario64.nl/bt.jpg
Banjo-Tooie own it/100% This is everything the double of BK,
the worlds are double the size, there's more of everything.
Fun for maaany hours and absolutely Banjo-Style.
It's amazing to see how the world has changed since BK.
I witnessed many funny cameos from BK and right from the
beginning you are once more set into a technically wonderful Banjo world. 5 Stars
http://www.artdujeu.com/phpbuns/jeu/upload/4041.jpg
Jet Force Gemini own it/100% In the shadow of Perfect Dark this
was not the most anticipated game at the time. in fact everyone was
looking out for PD, but I bought it anyway. And next to GoldenEye and
Conker this is outstanding. The best action game on N64 period.
Masterpiece. 5 Stars
http://www.artdujeu.com/phpbuns/jeu/upload/4049.jpg
Mickey's Speedway USA don't own it/20%
borrowed it from someone i don't know anymore, played it a day and had to give it back.
i wasn't impressed. mickey mouse? nah... why no Banjo kart?
This game had good graphics but it sucked! 2 Stars
http://www.artdujeu.com/phpbuns/jeu/upload/4032.jpg
Donkey Kong 64 own it/100%
make it short. BK>BT>DK64 This one is a BIG APE GAME! 5 Stars
and yes, i got every single banana.
http://www.artdujeu.com/phpbuns/jeu/upload/4055.jpg
Perfect Dark own it/90% Like GoldenEye, just more futuristic.
Gameplay was polished and perfected, and multiplayer was a blast.
and this one's a challenge!! love this game. i have a Rank 1 char ^^
5 Stars
http://www.artdujeu.com/phpbuns/jeu/upload/4030.jpg
Conker's Bad Fur Day own it/100%
This is a programmers dream come true.
Every funny c r a p that came into their brains, made it into the game.
a pis sing vomiting squirrel, joint smoking fire devils, asss-off-biting dinosaurs,
vampires, zombies, aliens, grimreapers, a world war and
much more crazy stuff with smart and black humour,
all in one bad fur day. this game rocks.
the best one on the N64 in terms of graphics, presentation, fun and voice acting.
a milestone. no gamecube game and no wii game has ever achieved
this awesome grade of animation and detail like this one.
It's so good that this is bad. 5 Stars
From a personal standpoint I'd say everybody should at least get Conker's Bad Fur Day. This game is presented like a movie. It's fun to watch, fun to play, fun to show it for people, to convince them about anything.
If you like platformers, there's no way you miss out on Banjo-Kazooie+Tooie and Donkey Kong 64 (and Conker's Bad Fur Day).
GoldenEye and Perfect Dark are without a doubt the best 1st person shooters on N64. These are classics.
Racing fans should look for better things on the N64. Yes, there were many great racers on the N64. Rare got dumped here.
Action fans, two of my favourite games of all time: Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini. Pick them up! JFG is a definite must buy!
Bottom line: All of Rare's N64 games are quality titles. If they are coming to VC for 1000 Wii Points, these one's will make you happy!
I would only buy Mickey's Speedway USA.. i rated it 2 Stars, yeah. but this is the single game i missed, so maybe.. i want to play it more than one day to see if it gets better after the first two cups. ^^

Banjo-Kazzoie had to be my favourite, the gameplay and variety of levels is just brilliant, but I've never played the sequel - any good?
A close second has to be Goldeneye - since its almost defo not coming to the VC, I recently bought a N64 with 5 games packaged (including 007), for £25, just in case I never get to play it again.

Blast Corps for the simple reason that I've not played many of the others and the fact that I've never played anything like it before or since...superb.

Having played all the games in the list, my vote goes to Goldeneye; it was not a hard choice, because I didn't enjoy (at that time and even nowadays) the rest of the games; I'm not going to write why because I don't have here my Flame-armor so maybe next time...

Man, I want to play these games so bad!! I mean, look at the VC's N64 selection: except for a choice few, there's really nothing special there. The n64 would've been Nintendo's worst system ever if Rare hadn't made Goldeneye, Banjo, etc.
The N64 VC is gonna suck if at least some of these games aren't released for it and hopefully Nintendo will realize that and make some kind of licensing deal with Rare.

Goldeneye was my favorite game when i was younger. It was so cool! I remember playing all the the day with my dad, and it was so fun, cuz i always pwnd him. :D Luckily i still have this wonderful game, and play it sometimes. :)
I also had Banjo-Kazooie, but it was so difficult. (lol, i was like 6 years old.) So we sold it and got another game. We should never have done that.. It still hurts my heart.

Goldeneye 007 was the best shooter ever.
Banjo-Kazooie was the best platformer ever.
So, don't call Banjo a travesty because it's not your cup of tea.
It was for a lot of people.
