So as most of you know i plan on getting a PS3 from the US by july, I am going over there and bringing it back. Now i have a new TV for it ready and have looked into everything. But today i came to a problem.

Voltage and power. Now instead of buying a voltage step converter i was thinking would it be easier to get one of these -

Would this UK power lead work with my US PS3 and then i wouldn't have to bother with a converter. I am sure there are people here who know about this sort of thing.

Thanks, your all great =]

That won't work, that's just an ordinary power lead. You'll need a 220-240V to 110-120V step-down converter with a wattage equal to or higher than the wattage of the console (it's usually recommended to go higher for safety).

I just looked this all up and have found out you do not need a converter at all. The ps3 converts on its own.

Magic

I would link but it is from another forum.

Really? I'm surprised at that. I'd be interested in that link actually, would you be able to be able to PM it to me?

Now that's region free, applauses to Sony.

Be sure about it before plugging it in though, gamers don't like the smell of fried hardware in the morning.

I have heared the converters actually fry the PS3
