So did they bother to translate anything?

No, but the operations guide explains the modes so it shouldn't matter that much

Sure, but the "intriguing backstory" mentioned in the press release will remain unknown to 90% of the people who buy it.

Or perhaps that's why it's intriguing. :P

They're giving players the ability to "create their own backstory". It's revolutionary. ;)

Even the music plays very slow in the PAL release... What a bummer, I won't be getting it now. =\

Huh i thought Hanabi Festival games run at the same speed as the NTSC counterparts .
But still its a good game good puzzler with cute visuals .

btw pal conversion issues will never deter me from downloading a game .

As of late, I've been playing the excellent "Remix" version for SNES, running at fast and smooth 60Hz... So I won't be downloading an inferior port at a slower refresh rate, because I care for my ears and eyes (and people who'd want to play 4 player matches).

Had they offered the best version with the best video mode, I'd gladly pay the price, but this time I really don't think they deserve it since they're showing they don't care much about the final product's quality.

Yes, it was an improved SNES version that was released some time after the original.

Well Sega could have released that version as part of the whole Hanabi Festival as Sega owns all of the Puyo Pyuo franchise nowdays .
In fact they Bought it back in 2002 when Compile shutdown .

Then again this years Hanabi Festival appears to be for the Megadrive & Turbografx releases only .

To me it doesn't matter, it's fun and harder then the "clones" so 900 points is worth it to me :D.

Sometimes, quality doesn't matter as long as it's playable and enjoyable...I definately enjoy this game and hope everyone else enjoys either Kirby's Ghost Trap, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine or Puyo Puyo 2, either way, there is a slight difference with the three, gameplay, graphical and speed wise :D
