I think its just a myth. If anything they will do reverse remote play. So that you can play PSP games over a close network on a larger screen.

But that will make the games look kind of crappy on HD tvs.

This would be awesome. But I doubt it would happen =[

You don't need a PS3, you just need a component cable (http://www.amazon.com/PSP-2000-Component-AV-Cable-Sony/dp/B000VIPJ0W/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222831709&sr=8-3)to play PSP games on the TV. I use it every once in a while, especially with Wipeout Pure. I have heard it makes them look pretty crappy, though, and it doesn't take up the whole screen. I use have a pretty small TV, so the games look fine, though it is annoying seeing them in a rather small box.

Wouldn't the games look less detailed on the big screen and blurry?

Yes. Read the rest of my comment below for the details.

So why get it? I'm pretty sure it would be better if they let you control a PSP game with the six axis, making some games that are good but horrific controls without dual analog great games like they deserve to be (typing run on sentences tires me out :D).

Because it l'm not using a big HDTV.

Except that would mean making entirely new games, since all PSP games were never made to support Dual Analog control.

Neither were GBA games, but that didn't stop Nintendo from making the GBA Player.

True, but then again, it didn't add any options that weren't already available. The most of the problems with the PSP's controls stem from the very lack of a second analog stick itself, and most PSP games don't even give you free reign over the camera, and those that do map it to the L/R buttons. The D-pad and face buttons are exactly the same as the Dual Shock, so I don't think the PS3's Sixaxis( whick is just a Dual Shock without the Shock) would mediate any of the non-camera related problems.

But most of the PSP games that are good but have a serious problem USUALLY SUFFER from camera control, like PSP FPS's.

Because there is no second Analog Stick. They won't automatically have the option to use a second analog stick just because you're playing them with a Sixaxis controller. It's the same thing with early PSOne games: when you play them through a PS2/PS3, you still won't be able to control the camera with the second analog stick, because it never had the option in the first place.

Yes, but the PSOne games didn't generally suffer and they were emulated. The PSP can be added via peripheral.

It's not going to make a difference, they'll still have crappy controls, since it would require a major update to each individual game, and I doubt Sony wants to go through that, especially when you can just use the component cables.

Why would they have crappy controls? They could just copy the console version of the game's control (e.g. Copy the console Call Of Duty controls for the PSP version). And other games which didn't have console iterations (and were good games) didn't have bad controls.

That is no where near as easy as you make it sound.

Actually a lot of PSP originals did have crappy controls, more specifically the Action and FPS games.

I agree with you that it will be somewhat hard, but it won't be as hard as you make it sound.

Besides, almost every PSP action and FPS original with potential was part of a popular PS2 console series.

Hard enough to so they won't do it.

Bounty Hounds had potential, in fact, most people find the controls to be it's only major flaw. I tend to be pretty good at tolerating bad controls, and I was able to look past Bounty Hounds poor camera to the gem inside. Trust me it's a good game if you can look past the fact that you have minimal control over the camera.

I have heard that the camera is a minor flaw, but I can't get it, because I don't own a PSP, but I am playing to get one.
