The SMS was discontinued in US early with Sonic 1 being the last released game for it there, while it lived much longer in Europe and Australia and New Zealand. So I guess this means US will be getting a lot of 600 point titles in the future?

Maybe so, but there are even more games on other consoles that were released in North America and not here that would sell here for a higher price if they're released here, this just balances things out a bit and makes it fairer if anything (although I don't see how charging more is exactly "fair" to start with, if anything they should charge less for import games because it was them who failed by not releasing them in the first place, they should come attatched with an apology!).

They could release the Game Gear versions of the Sonic games, but I hope not because they don't look good at all on a TV screen unlike the Master System versions.

Um gamegear ov Virtual Console ?
I thought Game Gear was a portable console & portable consoles not released on the Wii's Virtual Console .
Im a bit more expecting that the DS succesor going to have its own Virtual Console of potable consoles which includes Game Gear

The Game Gear uses the same architecture as the Master System, in portable form, so the presence of the SMS on the VC leaves open the possibility that we could get some GG games through that channel. Possibly.
