I've had my Wii since January, but I just noticed this yesterday. See the little clip that attaches the Wiimote strap to the thread? It's the exact same shape as the Wii console itself, which I thought was a nice bit of design. It could have been any shape, because it's not a hugely important part of the kit, but they put some thought into it. Good job, Ninty!

I just looked at it, I guess it is but it's just a rectangle with a corner cut off.

Yes, but why go with that rather than a normal rectangle? Because it matches the Wii itself. It's not big or important, but it's a nice little touch.

RVL-018 is the development number for the Wii-mote, basically it's the 18th patent that Nintendo has on the RVL (Revolution), if I'm not all wrong I think that the GameCube was called DOL-001 (Dolphin, which was it's development name).
And yeah, it's a really nice touch that it looks the same as the Wii, so does the LAN Adapter.

I've not seen the LAN adapter yet, but it's nice to see the design carried through.

Well, like I said, it took me a year to notice it! ;)
I don't tend to use the strap, so I've not looked at it, but I've been using it with Resi4 for some reason.
