I'm getting NA versions of the SNES & NES and making them region free, because of numerous reasons. But I'm wondering, because of the different cartridge shapes, will japanease, pal cartridges fit in the NA slot???
Much thanks in Advance.

Hmm, I think it differs from cart to cart, but I'm pretty sure a lot of them won't fit. You might try looking around for an adapter half-cart—one of those things that PAL/NTSC-J carts can slide into from the top which fit the North American consoles in the bottom. (I think they exist...)

That's what nintendo used, but there don't appear to be any on ebay.
This is sorta turning into Trading, but anyone know where to buy these PAL/NTSC-J to NTSC converters???

The folks over at the www.cheapassgamer.com forums may be able to help. The forums are huge, though, it may take some time to orient yourself.

I can play Japanese Super Famicom carts on my USA Super Nintendo no sweat. Look inside the cartridge slot of your NA NTSC SNES, right behind the cart slot are two small plastic tabs. Just get a pair of pliers or an exacto knife and break/cut these things out. They are the only thing preventing SFC carts from fitting in an SNES cartridge slot. Doesn't require any money, and is a quick fix that also does not affect the aesthetics of your console.
I don't know if PAL European carts work with this method, but all Japanese SFC games will play this way.
