Ok, in a couple of weeks is my best friend's little bro's |going to be 8| birthday. I need an idea of what to get him. He really wants Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time but I can't find it anywhere I've gone to and there are only two more places to check. Any secondary gift plans?

Kirby's Canvas Curse. Everybody loves Kirby and this game represents the franchise well. It's innovative, charming, and a hell of a lot of fun (and challenging if you want it to be). Probably the most fun I've had on my DS besides the Castlevanias. I think this game would make a great gift as it has broad appeal but backs it up with substance. A first rate title for a first rate handheld. That's my vote.

Hey, thanks man! I forgot about this game (I even own it) and the kid loves Kirby! I will look for this. Plus, I called my best friend today and he said the kid (I now dub that the almost 8 year old's name on these boards) doesn't like Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time much more. He borrowed it from me for about 2 weeks twice, so you would know why. He even completed it.

Good thing you didn't find it then! Ya know given his age he might also like Yoshi's Island DS. Even though it gets pretty hard at the end.

He is not a regular 8 year old kid (sort of like me and his older bro when we were younger *coughfiveyearsagocough*. He's completed Super Mario 64 DS, NEW Super Mario Bros., Kirby Squeak Squad, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Ha-ha! Except, like I said, he absolutely loves Kirby. I haven't found Canvas Curse yet...although I haven't started really looking yet! Also, it seems the kid's birthday is on the 28th of September. XD

Oh god, that game is an absolute nightmare to get hold of. I spent months searching, then ended up paying £25 (about $50) for a pre-owned copy!
If you live in America, it might not be as hard though. Good luck getting a copy.

Ooh, Kirby Canvas Curse. That game was one of the first actual good games I got for the DS. The only problem I had with it is that once i beat it it got fairly boring trying to get all the coins and doing all of the challenges.
Plus, I got Advance Wars: Dual Strike a few weeks later. It's still the best game out for the DS in my opinion. SO great.

It can't possibly match the horrors of trying to find a copy of Dawn of Sorrow before they shipped more out with the tacky gamestop cover. Took me a month and a half of calling gamestop everyday (even with the help of my girlfriend). But good luck finding it man as it would make a great gift.
