Oh man! I was happy today to see it finally came out.
So here we go
Graphics - I have to say their the best out of all SNK games at the time. KOF's crappy (try to make it look 3d) look and fatal fury's (blocky cubes) make SS's look like it's from the future. Samurai Shodown's graphics resemble more like capcom's sprites from alpha. The whole cel-shaded look.
Sound - Surprisingly I actually noticed the music in this game. lol It's nice and it goes with the mood. The soundFX are great as well, the blades chipping together and the swords clashing really give a vibe to the playing.
Gameplay - I've played most KOF games and SF games. But I've always found KOF and SNK's fighters to be more exciting. The flow of the battles are nice rather then the choppy fighting in street fighter. SS's battles are amazing, blending almost like Guilty gear and Soul Calibur together. But better. You'll often find your self going "Did I do that!?" The battles are quick and full of adrenaline. Way better then KOF and SF. The one thing SS shows you is that attacking isn't the main idea. You need to use strategy in it.
Replay value - I had to stop myself from playing. It's too good. As long as you have another friend this game can go on forever.
The game is good and clearly kills all fighters on the virtual console market currently. And I really think we will be getting SS II soon.
