I'm talking about a regular wire controller not the wavebird. Also, I'm not talking about third party controllers, but the official Nintendo GC controller.
I see them going on ebay for as low as $5. Should I be suspicious?
Sorry I know this isn't about a GC software, but it's the only GC forum here.

I wouldn't pay too much more than $5-10 for a used controller. You should check your online local classifieds if you live in an area with any kind of sizeable population. That way you won't have to worry about shipping and stuff. If you are going to go for eBay, make sure to ask if every button works, etc.
(I actually snagged a mint condition Wavebird from my local classifieds for only $20, so I was pretty happy.)

i would get a cheap third party controller.
dont buy used controllers. the originals from nintendo often have messed up analogsticks or R/L/Z-buttons.

That's not really the point, but okay.
Anyways, I would suggest you only pay around 5-15 dollars on a controller, no matter who makes it. This is of course of the controller is used. Otherwise, I would just say pay no more than 30 dollars for a brand new one.

In my experience, the Nintendo brand controllers are of far superior quality and durability than third-party controllers. I suppose, as with anything else in the world, other people's experience varies.

I agree with SKTTR, the gamecube controllers analogue, L and R button seem to take a lot of work to use as they seem a bit stiff :lolo:
GAME is selling brand new gamecube controllers for £6.99 http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Hardware/Accessory/~r334001/Nintendo-GameCube-Controller-Purple/ (http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Hardware/Accessory/%7Er334001/Nintendo-GameCube-Controller-Purple/)

hey I am trying to find a wireless GC controller thats the exact same size as the original... all I can find is the mini ones and My hands are a bit on the big side, it cramps my hands when I use the shoulder (trigger) buttons when I play MK DS for a long time anybody recommend any? I have a wavebird somewhere but never got the thing that I stick in the port... got it at a garage sale with my wife for 3 dollars... but its useless without the other piece

You can probably snag a receiver online for a decent price. eBay. The Wavebirds themselves sell for ridiculous prices on eBay, but just one part shouldn't be too bad since it's useless to someone who doesn't already have the rest.
I say that, but I haven't checked so I'm not sure.

I was in China this summer and made a good deal. If you by accident should drop by the Pearl Market in Beijing they've got some pretty good GC controllers. Bought 2 for the small price of 11.5$ in total:D
