View Full Version : Most Insanely Difficult Game To Beat?

what games do you think is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to beat?
every method must be tried and failed..(walkthroughs, game genie, action replay, etc..) WITHOUT USING LEVEL PASSWORDS OR SELECT!!!!!
I am going through my old collection and trying to find those "Impossible games" I only have one so far.. I will edit as I remember them...

1. RC Pro AM... I got up to level 38 with a Game Genie infinite continues code, i left my NES on for 2 DAYS and I got too scared that I'd fry it (precious antique!) I basically gave up, the only way to move on to the next track is to keep collecting bullets/bombs until you have 50 or so and shoot like a madman and try to end up in 3rd or better while the computer seems to have nitrous!!! They @@#$ fly around the track!!!! (without a game genie I get up to around level 18-25 max, barely into the 3rd car)

Try playing Dragon's Lair for the NES.

I Wanna Be the Guy. Play it and message me back once you get a new computer after you smash your current one in half four minutes into this game.

I love that game. The randomness makes it great.

Gradius III. Not the SNES version, though, but the arcade original, which is also available on the PS2 and PSP. Shooters like Mushihimesama and DDP DOJ can be a real pain, but Gradius III is supreme in that aspect...

Well from what I've played, R-Type 2.

did you guys try using a game genie and find it still impossible to get a ending screen?

KeeperBvK
7th February 2008, 02:52 PM
Well, no, but I think you'll find nearly no games at all, that truly have no ending screen, other than in games like Slalom or Wetrix, which either just repeat over and over again or are solely built on an endless mode...and that has nothing to do with being difficult to beat.
I couldn't think of a single game, that wouldn't be easy to beat by cheating.

Can't you create a cheat with the Game Genie that just makes you go faster?

Wetrix!

Nows there's a game I'd like to revist on VC. Who made it

Zed Two developed it, but Ocean published the N64 version, whereas the PC and GB versions were published by Infogrames. I wonder who currently has the rights for the N64 version as Ocean doesn't exist anymore...as far as I know, that is.
Luckily I still have the N64 cartridge. ^^

Ninja cop. Serious, old school hard-core gaming. Loved it.

Not sure but it might be a kill screen on stage 255?

Flamin Skull

If there are any game genie codes to make me go faster past the limited 4 bars (tires, acceleration and top speed) please give it to me.. I only have the unlimited continues and full bar on first pickup.. nothing that gives me a clear advantage other than the ability to build up my bullet stock by losing and continuing..

have you actually reached level 255/ I consider myself a very good player at that game as I've been playin it for 15 or 20 years on and off the cars are insanely fast, you gotta shoot them endlessly from the beginning to end!

Nop, but if the level counter is stored in 8-bits thats the goal.

game genie codes

Never owned any cheat cartridges so have no clue on them really.

Yeah, 'I Wanna Be The Guy' is a H*R phrase, what's your point?

Straight off of the I Wanna Be the Guy website's FAQ:

Q: Is this a reference to Homestar Runn~

A: NO. It resulted from me and my friend Eric babbling about stuff. I forgot the exact conversation but I was talking about the game premise and Eric said something like "It should be Guy Quest 64"(It was a different name involving Guy) "Dude, I'm never going to let you be a Guy." "But I wanna be the Guy. :(" .... And I instantly laughed at the idea of using that for the name. But yes, I'm pretty sure both of that saw the Homestar runner clip and it is theoretical that it planted the mental foot note for us to come up with the name, but it is in no way a reference.

So there.

Hey, I didn't say that the game was named after the phrase, I said that 'I wanna be the guy' is a H*R phrase, and asked him what his point was. I mean, its possible (read: proven) that the game was named after something else.
You misunderstand, Forums are terrible are context of dialogue.

Wetrix shows you an ending (credits) when you get over 1.000.000.000 points in endless mode.

You can also open the credits with a button combination in the title screen.

I always thought Final Doom was pretty rediculous. The Plutonia Experiment's later levels are im-possible

Super Empire Strikes Back made me want to kill myself.

MDK2 was pretty hard, but that's technically only last-generation and might not qualify as retro.
