I've always liked the 2D Mortal Kombats. Couldn't stand the series (or much of any other fighting game) after it turned 3D. I might pick it up at some point.

So this game is Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 but for the DS? Sounds good to me.

I was never a fan of it once it became 3d (it just lost its charm) and the lack of fighters on the ds is making me consider this.

As far as I know, they're all like Fatality's (performed at the end of matches with button combo's), they just do different things. Haven't really played much Mortal Kombat besides Deadly Alliance though...

EDIT: Ahh ok i can do babalitys, these are easy, but the fatalitys are hard, for example, it just doesnt pick up the actions, and when u press up the charecter jumps, messing up the chain :S

Had some very fun matches last night and today. It's a very fun brawler, even if I'm not that great at it. I haven't been able to pull off a finishing move yet. I forgot what a cheap character Scorpion is. UMK is without a doubt still very enjoyable, especially since everything is so over-the-top. I definitely want to rip out Liu Kang's vocal chords, though. :D

I got this for Christmas and it rocks! I love the 2d MKs, this one especially. The addition of Puzzle Kombat is awesome! Portable puzzle kombat was a great idea. Here's my code: 1633 3002 4553. Let's fight sometime guys.

Friendship is joke finishing move that doesnt actually kill the opponent its just supposed to be funny. Animality is when u turn into an animal and kill them. Babality is similar to Friendship in that the opponent isnt killed but rather turned into a baby.

And if your having trouble pulling the moves off, my advice is to press the commands fast, very fast. Ever done Akuma's Raging Demon move from Street Fighter? You have to just press all the buttons quickly. And about pressing up making u jump during fatalities, I have that problem too, cant see how to get around it.

Yeah, since its the arcade version you need to do it very quickly.

if you hold the BLOCK button your character won't jump during a finishing move that includes "UP". works nice on all MK versions.

But i did it like this: if there is a move where you have to press "UP",
just jump and put in your special/fatality move fast while you're still in the air.

Splatterhouse is on the VC and that is very violent. It'd be cool if they did release it but I unfortunately doubt it.
