When I saw this on IGN earlier today I was veeeeeeeeery excited... but then instantly I became ****ed again remembering that the Wii isn't Multi-region and also, my faith in Ninty with release dates has gone southward after the EU Super Paper Mario scandal

Someone wrote that MP2 was released in the EU only about a week or 2 after its US release, so I'm hoping for an early september release...

This makes me very happy. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were flawless, this may very well be as well.
BTW, Makeda, K'? Nice one, mate.

I'm not mad about the game, but I am getting it so it's good to hear that we'll be getting it around then. :)
Would have been nice during the Summer holidays but ah well.

This game is sure to be amazing. Prime and Echoes were! I am actually more excited about this than Mario Galaxy! 8)

Given the quality of their immediate predecessors, absolutely. Given how good videos of Galaxy are looking, I'd rank them about even. Of course, that may only last until Galaxy gets delayed until next year :D

My number one desired game is obviously Smash Bros. Brawl but I feel the same about looking forward to Metroid Prime 3 more than Galaxy. Don't get me wrong! Galaxy is going to be great, I'm just more anticipating Metroid Prime 3 mainly for the Wi-Fi multiplayer.

You all have strange ways of talking of FACTS....
Since it already happened, there should be some way to find this kind of information....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid_Prime_2
Metroid Prime 2 release dates:
November 15, 2004 US
November 26, 2004 EU
December 2, 2004 AU
May 26, 2005 JP
And this is a bit OT, but shouldn't Japanese be angry for seeing ALL Metroid Prime episodes later than anyone in the world? Ok, MP is an american series, but I think they feel a bit betrayed. Am I the only one who cares?

Am I the only one who cares?I don't really care because they get hundreds of great games ages before us, and sometimes we don't even get them!
They can't exactly complain about 1 series of games that they get later can they?

I owned both Metroid Prime GCN games, and they were pretty good. I think the series is a bit overrated to tell you the truth, but I'm looking forward to Corruption.

I guess I'm the only one here who is looking forward to Mario Galaxy insted of this game. I GUESS it's because I've never played Metroid games, but it will be cool on Wi-Fi, is this the first Wii game that's on the internet?
I might get into Metroid since some of the games are comeing out on the virtual console, and Sumas is pretty cool. :samus-run:

Nope, it's Mario Charged Football which is the first game to be online in Europe. And that will be out this Friday ^O^

Yes, in Europe. But in North America, the first online multiplayer game will be Da Pokemans.

They should of made Wii Sports the first Wi-Fi game when the console came out and started Wi-Fi gaming when the console was launched. Mario Party 8 would of been great with Wi-Fi.

*sigh* Semantics. If you want to be picky, the original question was what the first Wii game would be. The States were not specified. :sigurd-woot:

I wonder if it's possible to release a Wi-fi "patch" for Wii sports?
If Ninty can do that.. it would be so awesome. But, I doubt they will bother :(

I'm sure they could if they wanted to, there's nothing that precludes games being patched on the Wii the same way they are on the other two consoles. Like you say though, it's unlikely Nintendo would be bothered.

Also, the first Wii game with online was Battle Revolution in Japan.

With the success of Wii Sports, I think it's safe to say there will be a sequel. You figure updated versions of the original sports mini-games, along with some new ones and online play. Well, this is all a wet dream right now, but there's a pretty good chance we'll get some o'dat.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that either...don't think they'll go for the patch, more money in the sequel.

I'm definitely looking forward to MP3. I loved MP1 and MP2, and I find it difficult to compare them to the classic 2D Metroids. They're just entirely different beasts. Anyways, from what I've seen and read about the game it looks to be an excellent title to finish this trilogy. I just hope the voice acting is going to do the game justice.

I'm excited about Metroid Prime 3 also. I also have the other two but only played throught the first one completly. Maybe now is a good time to dig out MP2. I thought MP3 is NOT going to be playable on WiFi? I love the Prime series, the first is one of my favorite games; but I'm honestly more excited about Galaxy and Smash Bros.

They've removed multiplayer completely unless I've understood it wrong. Not a great loss as multiplayer in MP2 frankly sucked, and these were always better suited as single-player campaigns.

I put my pre-order down a few days ago. I've been watching the videos on IGN and this game looks awesome, their was even a video where samus releases an airlock and floats outside in space for a few seconds before entering another area of the space station. I've beaten both prime 1 and 2 although Prime had far better replay value and when I beat prime 2 I was just grateful it was over.
This is going to be a great game and I can't wait for August 27th.

yeah i get metroid too. but we have to wait til october.
you dont need to ask, if theres nintendo on it, i buy. ^^
ive beaten all metroid primes (1 + 2 + hunters)
mp2 was indeed a confusing mess but somehow i managed to beat that dang thing. hunters was a relief compared to that.
and mp3 is going to be more like hunters. thats good for me.
it has more small areas than those "parallel world mazes", that were annoyingly complex even with a map.
i think mp3 will be a blast. it's a mix between mp1 and hunters. i'm sold.

I think unless most people, I never lost track in MP2 and subsequently enjoyed it as much as I had the first one. I'd probably attribute this to the fact that I was playing it in 7-8 hour stretches and never exited the game world. And the battle with Dark Samus was just ace. The first one is still the better game, I'll admit.
MP3 is the game I'm looking most forward to out of the big three, one minor step above my ridiculous anticipation for Super Mario Galaxy and a world above my total disinterest in SSBB :D

I pre ordered a copy of Metroid Prime 3 and I did start playing Prime 2 again. I left off with about 25% completion and over the weekend I've finished another 10% of the game. I should have it beaten in time for Prime 3, but the bad news is that I have to put off A Link to the Past again.
