Good list. It's really terrible that we probably won't get Tetris or any of the Rare titles.

Never say never. It is possible for those titles to appear on the VC, if they can sort out the licencing issues and such. Unlikely, but it can happen.

I don't have a Wii yet, but geez, I'd buy one in a second if Donkey Kong or Goldeneye were confirmed. I can see Rare eventually doing something for the Virtual Console. They're giving love to the Xbox Live Arcade, so they shouldn't hold out much longer. Plus, they'll probably see decent sales if they release a title.

It all depends what their corporate masters tell them they can do. Microsoft don't want players migrating to the Wii upon the release of a VC Goldeneye, Banjo, or Perfect Dark.

Jetpac. It's not much, but it sold very well.

Perfect Dark couldn't happen, but Goldeneye could.

I would think Goldeneye would be the more expensive one to finance. It's got a movie license on top of the Rare license.

Exactly. Both are unlikely, but Goldeneye more so.

NoA Pres says he's going to fight tooth and nail to get Goldeneye on the VC.

I dunno, maybe Microsoft will decide to stop being greedy selfish *******s and let them.

Too true. I m mean we get Rare games on the GBA and one on the DS soon, so why would a VC game or too hurt?

Because Microsoft don't have a competing handheld console... yet. The moment they do, we won't see Rare titles on GBA/DS anymore.

Of course, while I'm not about to buy one of their consoles, I would happily give MS my money to play something like Goldeneye or Conker's on Wii, so they're missing out. ;)

That's good. If Nintendo can strike a deal with Microsoft...maybe split the profits 50/50...we may see it on VC *cheers*!

It might be a little more expensive, but I guarantee you that Nintendo and Rare would break even and make a profit with Goldeneye. If Rare was able to pull a decent profit with Jetpac on the Xbox Live Arcade, then Goldeneye should easily make strong sales.

I know it sounds kind of crazy, but for me it would be a system seller. I played Goldeneye for Nintendo 64 and loved it, but I never actually bought the console.. it was always at a buddies place. I don't have a Wii, but I'll get one eventually. If Goldeneye was released tomorrow on the VC I'd go right out and buy a Wii.

I think you're right there, and that's why MS won't allow it. They let Goldeneye go, and people are buying Wii, and they don't want that.

Of course, maybe MS are up for it, but want some of the profits from the VC sales, and Nintendo won't allow that. Who knows?

If Microsoft could score a deal that would get them royalties for each Goldeneye sale made, the deal would be done in a matter of seconds.

Don't think that Nintendo doesn't want Goldeneye on the VC, because they do. The burning question is WHAT would be the best, and most profitable, way to do it.

They consider N64 games as BIG releases. With some luck, when they run out of First Party titles, maybe we ll see more when they add Third Party games...

You know what? I'm right with you on that.

While it's true they're "big" releases, exactly how long do Nintendo think they can hold onto the market lead for? I would think that they want to hit the console hard with as many great N64 games as they can. I mean, enough people on this board have been drooling over the prospect of Goldeneye, for example, that it's bound to sell a few consoles if a new generation get their hands on the Dam level...?

I hate to say it, but I imagine the current generation probably aren't overly impressed by 2D graphics. While SNES, MD, NES, TG16 will appeal to people like us, the VC faithful, I would suspect they might not be a big selling point to some of the kids who've been spoiled by a diet of Playstation-level 3D for their gaming lives. Sure, they'll enjoy playing Bomberman on their mate's system, but it's not gonna make them go out and spend their paper-round money on a Wii....

Just my two-pence worth. ;)

Missing a few of my favs:

Worms Armageddon - Infogrames
Road Rash 64 - THQ
BattleTanx Global Assault - 3DO

Such great multiplayer on all these. I still have my N64 set up so I can play these (along with Perfect Dark, Bomberman64 and Conker's BFD). Good times.

I would absolutely love to see Smash Bros., Resident Evil 2, Donkey Kong 64, and Diddy Kong Racing on VC.All those are possible. SSB I m guessing might see VC in November/Xmas time as the build up to SSBB (And to make up for the lack of SSBB at Xmas for Europeans), RE2 when Ninty starts letting Third Party N64 games on, DK64 proberly sometime after DKC3 and DKR proberly a looooooooooong time thanks to the DS remake.

I don't think so. It is Nintendo's game, and Reggie says he's doing everything to get it.
