I am experiencing major lag problems with this VC game :( Also there's a vertical bar, about 1 cm wide, at the left side of the screen, wich changes to the background color. When I move Kirby around the images on the sides seem to have trouble catching up. I contacted Nintendo, they say it's not a known problem and it's probably my Wii. But I also downloaded Super Mario Bros. and haven't had any problems with that one or any other problems with my Wii so far. I also tried deleting the game and redownloading it several times, but that didn't help. Does anybody else experience this problem and know how to fix it?

I copied this from my comment at the review page. I thought I'd have better luck getting feedback on the forum. I downloaded Super Castlevania IV since, and did not have any problems with that one either. So anybody else experience this problem with Kirby's Adventure? Or maybe it's only in the european release?

The game does have major lag problems. It's a shame, that's one of the only really bad things about it :(

Roll on super Star 8)

The game does have major slowdown in the original but I did notice some additional slowdown that wasn't present in the original. It was pretty minor though.

That verticle bar is also in the original and you will just have to get used to it. Once you play the game for a few minutes, you won't even notice it's there.

Thanks for the feedback! Atleast now I know it's not my Wii. Too bad they didn't fix these problems for the VC release though. I'm still hoping they will release an update for it. I can't believe they released a game this buggy back then. O_o I'd doubt most people these days would accept this sort of stuff. Even if the game is great, these things spoil the fun for me. Maybe I'm just a bit of a nitpicker. :kirby:

I've experienced a bit of lag with it too. A pity, because it's a superb little game.

Think I'm missing something with this one. Enjoying it but struggling to see the 'classic' that most people have this. It seems a little shallow - am I missing wrong?

Guys, could it not just be that this was such an advanced game for the NES, that it meant that the NES was working really hard and slowdown then occurred because of it?

Do remember that Ninty want the VC games to be true representatives of the original game, or as close to the originals as they can be. I mean, look at the Starfox 64 (Lylat Wars) update. Apparently it actually causes the game to lag when it didn't use to on the VC, because it lagged back in the day.

Haven't noticed a bar though, maybe i'm not looking close enough.

It's very hard not to notice that bar :). It's all over the left edge off the screen.

I know which bar you mean now. It's part of the game screen, so I never knew that's what you were on about, I thought you meant a seperate bar that just appears.

My bad.

No, I noticed it when I first got it, but I thought he meant something else because this bar looks like it's just part of the game. I thought he meant a bar popping up and obscuring his view or something.

I'm confused by this fact. In the most recent Nintendo Power Magazine, it states in the Virtual Console Section that Nintendo has been improving the graphics of the games they are throwing on the Wii Shop Channel. They even show side-by-side comparison of Star Fox 64 version clearly showing how the VC version is a touch better then the original N64 version. I don't understand why Nintendo upgrades the graphics but downgrades the controls and playability? This makes no sense! Oh well, most complaints that are posted here I don’t even notice (like the Star Fox 64 update, I downloaded it and I don’t really feel there’s a significant slowdown).

the graphics upgrade is just an output difference. The Virtual Console has clearer visuals, specially when you use a component cable.

btw. i also notice heavy slowdown and that bar to the left. But last time i played i suddenly notice after some time, that the bar was gone

The stuff on the left side was probably meant to be hidden in old TV's, so that's what you get when you're using a modern set that shows the whole screen.

I don't remember any slowdown in the N64 version. Are you just making all that up by yourself?
