IK+ is probably the pinnacle of 8-bit beat 'em ups. It's really great fun. Although it lacks the special move aspect of the modern beat 'em up, it's hugely enjoyable for a quick go with friends. The big sprites also move surprisingly quick and with good collision detection. Ludicrous sampled sound effects and a great bonus game add to the fun.

Speaking of friends, we got kind of annoyed that when one of us lost in IK the loser would be switched for a computer player so you had to restart all the time. It annoyed me since the song would never progress far and you had to open up the keyboard all the time ;)

Even though we don't play it alot it's fun doing for 15 minutes ;)
