I don't know about importing Xbox 360s but you will definitely need a transformer to step down the voltage, it can be dangerous if you get the power supply wrong so you'll have to speak to someone who knows about this. I don't want to risk telling you the wrong thing.
I'm pretty sure it can be done, and it sounds like a good idea to me, even if you have to import all your games it could work out cheaper. You might want to check out about whether you can pay for an Xbox Live subscription on an import console, that could be a problem. Have a search for technical forums, or import gaming forums, they should know.
