Although the Wii is an awesome console with lots of game options, be it Wii Discs, Gamecube Discs, Virtual Console, or WiiWare, that leaves a lot of controls and attachments necessary to fully utilize all of its features. What do you have to make the best use of your Wii? Here's my hardware and accessories setup, any comments or thoughts are welcomed.

Wii Console
-Component cable (for best possible display on my HDTV)

-Platinum GameCube Controller x4
-Wiimote x3 (Planning to get a fourth)
-Nunchuck x1 (Planning to get a second)
-Classic Controller x2

-Wii Wheel x2
-Nyko Perfect Shot x1 (Considering a second for Wii Play shooting game)

-2GB SD Memory Card x2
-1019 Gamecube Memory Card x1

For most games, this setup has nearly everything covered. I made mentions where I intend to get another controller or attachment. I can't think of any reason you'd need anything more than this though. What about you guys?

Great thread idea!

Display:
32" Sharp AQUOS LC-32D64U conn. w/ component cables

Storage:
Sandisk for Wii 1GB SD Card
2 Nintendo GameCube Memory Card 1019 (White)
1 Nintendo GameCube Memory Card 251 (Black)

Control:
3 Nintendo GameCube Wavebirds (Platinum)
2 Nintendo Wii Remotes w/ stock straps & jackets
2 Nintendo Nunchuks
2 Nintendo Classic Controllers
2 Nintendo Wii Wheels
2 Nintendo GameCube 6' Wired Controllers (Black)
1 Nintendo GameCube 10' Wired Controller (Wii White)
1 Nintendo GameCube 6' Wired Controller (Platinum)
1 Nintendo Balance Board
1 Nintendo Wii Zapper

Here's a short list of things I could use to perfect my setup:

1x Larger/faster SD card (2GB)
1x Nintendo GameCube Wavebird (Platinum)
3x Nintendo GameCube 10' Wired Controllers (Wii White)
2x Nintendo Wii Remotes
4x Nintendo MotionPlus Adapters
2x Nintendo Wii Wheels
2x Wireless Nunchuks
1x Wii Remote Charger Set
1x Balance Board Charger
1-2x Club Nintendo Super Famicom Classic Controller(s)

I'm a minimalist so I get just enough.

Storage:
256 GB SD Card
Official Nintendo GameCube Memory Card 251

Control:
4 Nintendo Wii Remotes w/ jackets
2 Nintendo Nunchuks
1 Nintendo Wii Wheel
1 Official Nintendo GameCube Controller (although I do covet the White Wii Gamecube controller)

I was planning to get 2 more Nunchuks to match the 4 Wii Remotes, but realized that there was never a situation that required me to get two more Nunchuks. I think it might be excessive for me. Two Nunchuks are enough to play all my games. I wouldn't even get the Wii Wheel except that it comes with Mario Kart.

I agree, even though I only have 1 Nunchuck, I didn't see any situation where I would need more than 2 total Nunchuck or Classic Controllers. What is this Wii Gamecube Controller that matches the console?? I would be highly interested in that. I could sell off the Platinum ones and make a profit, considering I picked them up for clearance at $6 apeice.

My Ideal Wii Setup:

Wii hooked up with component to a big display like device with integreated Sensorbar on the side of the screen (about 1/3rd from the top, should give the most accurate results).

2GB SD Card (Sandisk)
2x Wii Remote
2x Nunchuck
2x Classic Controller
2x SNES Classic Controller
2x Wii Zapper
4x GameCube Controller (Not WaveBird, because of Rumble).
1x GC Memorycard 1019 Blocks
1x GC Memorycard 251 Blocks
1x LAN Adaptor

I'm missing the SNES Classic Controllers and the 2nd Zapper.
I play all my GameCube games on my GameCube, because I have a nice Spicy Orange imported one (incl. Game Boy Player), and my Wii is a Pal-Console (If you didn't know already).

Wii Remotes x2
Nunchucks x2
Classic controller x1
gc memorycard 59x1
gc memory card 251 x2
gc impoet memory card 1019 x1
Wii balance board x1
Sandisk 2gb SD card x1
gc wired controllers x2
gba to gc cables x2

Thats my current setup

But i have to warn you you wont ba able to use high speed SD cards or can you use SDHC cards which means you have a 2 gb limit .

Then agan that would be about 8 times more as compared to whats left of the Wiis 512 flash after being taken up by the OS & stored e-mails it would be about 8 times approx of what you can store on the Wii in terms of games & saves .

I kinda like those white GCN controllers, too... the 10' cord is the clincher. An inch less than that and it wouldn't be any good to me.

my setup at the moment-

40" Sony Bravia LCD TV (silver)
composite cables
4 wiimotes
2 Classic controllers
2 nunchucks
1 Black Gamecube controller
1 GB official wii sd card
1 wavebird controller (no reciever, still looking!!!)
1 wii zapper
1 wii wheel

I need to find a GC controller that's wireless and not made for kids hands! I can only find the mini sized ones! why cant they also make regular sized ones?

I ordered myself two SFCCCs of eBay, so my Wii Hardware Setup will get better!

When the Wii-White GCN controllers with 10' cords are available over here, I may look at adding one.

I'd also consider adding one of those SNES classic controllers if they were ever released domestically.

I ordered a White Gamecube controller. They are only $25 right now, that's regular price. I'd jump on it before waiting for them to become rare and more expensive. I definately wouldn't hold my breath for NOA to bring them here..

Every auction I've seen for them is $25 + $17 shipping. On principle, I don't bid on an auction when people making the shipping costs more than it costs to ship the item. I'll have to settle for the old 'bird.

LoneCynic

Play-Asia has them, and you could get a combined shipping charge for four at once. Don't waste extra money buying off ebay, I only use it as a last resort when no stores have items I want anymore.

I definitely don't want/need four. One Wavebird and one white pluggy-inny controller would be totally fine for me. I'll take me a gander at this Play Asia of which you speak.

Play Asia is good, if you order till end of july, I could give you a Coupon (5$ off of one order over 50$).

White controller is here from PlayAsia. The C-Stick on my WaveBird started acting up, so I unboxed this puppy and used it for some Brawl. Very nice!

I also added two more WaveBirds to my setup, but I think I'm going to sell them at a profit and use the extra to get another of these whities or a Super Famicom classic controller.

Me? Nop, i only have the Nintendo branded one.

The Perfect shot is great. I got one awhile back, and it works out very nicely. It has a solid trigger, is easy to use, and has a pass-through port on the bottom for the Nunchuck to plug into. Much nicer than the Nintendo made gun, with its iffy trigger and awkward to hold style.
