Is anyone planning on picking up this badboy when it's released on our shores here on November 6th? An arcade stick very reminiscent of the Nintendo Super Advantage....I want it so much, if just for Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Honestly, it would be great for any Virtual Console, giving any of them an arcade feel, just like i used to do on the SNES with the Super Advantage :D...before it broke :(

Only downside it that it's going to be $50

Comments?

No thanks. I'll stick with the Classic Controller, plus I hate those gamepads anyway.

50 bucks for a controller? The wiimote is 50 what makes this so special, when the CC is only 30?

Feels good to play arcade style games with it a stick tho.

I'd get it if I liked fighting games but I hate them =P

I just got this thing.

It. Rocks.

Enough said.

Seriously though, it gives a great new way to play your games, and obviously, it's great for fighters. It's also fun for any Virtual Console game, especially those that originated in the arcade. Gives the perfect feel.

Hmm, I have a few questions about it.

Does it connect to the wiimote or the GameCube ports?
How's the button layout like? Y-X-L, B-A-R?
Does Street Fighter II have the buttons for weak-middle-strong punches and kicks in the correct order?
How about the buttons for Comix Zone or Eternal Champions?

It connects through the Wiimote (Giving it Bluetooth functions :D)

The button layout is indeed Y-X-L-ZL B-A-R-ZR, which is optimal for Street Fighter II (Weak-middle-strong)

Not sure about Comix Zone or Eternal Champions though, I have not downloaded them

Just wondering, does it have rumble support?

Serge.EXE

No rumble. It is a Classic Controller basically

Hmm, that sucks. Also, judging by the button layout, I'm guessing that any MegaDrive games using the A button or 6-button controller will play like crap... =\

I've been telling anyone who cares to listen, X-arcade sticks are the only way to go if you're serious about only ever spending money on one stick again. It's a near-extortionate amount of money for a stick, I'll concede...

Just seen it and I can´t say I´m impressed... How´s the button layout like, when you connect it to the GC port?

I´m considering getting a Wii FS when I see it, but first I´d like to know if there´s any equivalent with rumble support.

Well, it doesn't connect through the GC port, that's the thing. It's a Wiimote attachment. This alone is a good reason to get it, as this means it has GlovePIE scriptability, making the potential uses great in number.

Also, why do you want rumble in an Arcade Stick???

Yeah, that is a bit strange. The closest I've ever seen to that was jamming a DC rumble pak into the DC arcade stick's memory port. Now that was a stick...

Exactly because of that. I own one of those and it's nice to have optional rumble support.

I get the distinct impression you may have misinterpreted the tone of my reminiscences. That wasn't fondness you detected.

I've never really been a fan of using arcade sticks for fighting games tbh. I prefer the Dreamcast or Saturn controllers for that so the Classic Control suits me nicely

Back in the day, I had the Super Advantage for the Super Nintendo, and it was awesome to play some games with it. The Hori stick is pretty similar to it, which makes it cool enough for me.

iNma

Well... The simple fact that the Hori stick only replicates the classic controller and not the GC one essentially renders it useless for people like me. Using it to play a few of the arcade-style games that were on the old GC would have made it worth the purchase buy as it stands I still find it overpriced for what it does.

I note that there is notbyet a manufacturer that had created a genuine Wii arcade stick as of yet, rendering games such as metal slug anthology unplayable with any one perfect method of control.

I hasten to add, however, that if Sony can add rumble support to games that did not natively have it, SNK should by rights add CC support to MSA.

Here's hoping Guilty Gear Accent Core does not make the same mistake.
