Why isn't there a "HELL, YEAH!" option?
Ok, I voted yes.
Anyway...Manhunt 2 anyone?
: )
Don't lose your faith, Vice City and San Andreas were advertised as PlayStation super mega exclusives....we saw that!
[EDIT...Little OT]
I personally would like a silent-unnamed character as GTA3. I never wanted to be like Vercetti!!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing a GTA game on Wii, but I'd prefer a new game by Rockstar. The whole GTA franchise hasn't exactly been innovative  Even though the core gameplay remains as much fun as ever. I'm really curious about Manhunt 2, I might pick up 1 to see how that plays. I hope we will be seeing alot more mature titles on Wii, even though it's targeted more towards the casual gamer and families. Titles like Manhunt 2, No More Heroes, Resident Evil will hopefully start a trend.

I'd love for that. The Godfather is proof that sandbox games on the Wii are easily done.

1st of all, I hate GTA games. They're boring and easy and repetitive and everyhting that a good game isn't. 2nd of all, Rockstar have admitted that the 360 is too weak for GTA 4 and it's making there lives hell putting it on that thing.
If a 360 is to weak for GTA 4, what the hell does that mean for the Wii?

Maybe we'll get a PSP port.

I think the Wii has enough PS2 and PSP ports already.

GTA sucks something indescribable. The PS3 and 360 can have it. Good riddance.

I've not played the GTA games all that much. I have Liberty Cities for the PSP. If I remember correctly it was packaged with the console. It's alright for a quick bit of fun... run around like a mad man and avoiding the police... but the missions/storyline never get me hooked at all.

Ditto. Although having had all GTA games bar the PSP 2 and then the PS2 ports of the PSP 2. I've even got bored of the quick 15 mins run from the police deal.
I bought 3 because VC was ok and I didn't like it. VC was ok but I started getting sick. And I heard SA was amazing. It wasn't IMO.

WHAAAAT? San Andreas was the best sandbox game in the land! Jesus, you must antagonize the other console platforms or something.
The GTA franchise is tremendously awesome. Anybody who says otherwise is probably a hater, or just not into sandbox games at all. I understand this is a VC forum board, so I expect a lot of classic gamers, but to say the GTA series is anything short of a quality franchise is just obscene.

The story in the GTA games is often bad and only a reason to keep playing.
But running around doing what you want is the fun part :D
The two-player part of SA was great fun.
I think it would be cool with a GTA game on the Wii and I know it would be a bestseller.

Don't swear.
Anyway, I do dislike sandbox games, but this one ever more than the rest. They're boring. The story is awful. The gameplay is terrible. The difficulty is on constant easy and there's many more awful things about them

i liked the 1st, top down one for psone i think it was done by dma? i remember them saying at the time that they had created a 3D version of GTA2 but canned it because it just didnt work very well.
they have been proven right as since rockstar took over i cant stand the series now, so boring and rigid.
most sandbox games are just awful- actually with the exception of crackdown which is probably the first sandbox game to actually have fun controls and movement 1st and foremost- the others all create a city and cars etc etc and just plonk a badly controlled character in the middle.

It's like an article I read somewhere, discussing the balance in making a free, open environment in a game with the purpose brought on by judicious use of restrictions and imposed missions.
So, GTA sucks because you just end up walking around killing people to no avail; that's a sign of boredom, and the fanboys can take it or leave it.
Mafia had a big, essentially open city, where you could drive around just experiencing it, but the more rigid mission structure gave it some narrative purpose. Now that was a great game.

I'd say the same. But with Crackdown, all I enjoyed was collecting all 800 orbs. I hated the combat. The combat was awful, the lock on was terrible for one. I wasn't keen on the racing at al either. Just on the orb collecting.

I can't see why not (well besides maybe the weak system), but if nintendo is trying to broaden their fanbase this will make it more mature.

I'd love a GTA on Wii, I've never had the chance to buy any of the others, just play it at friends houses, and they kept taking the controller off me whenever I got a car or something >.<

yeah I definitely don't see it happening, although it would be awesome.
I'm a huge GTA fan, San Andreas is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. I'm actually considering buying a PS3 just for GTAIV

I like the 3D GTA series quite a bit... but I'd personally rather play the next gen fourth version than a rehash that would come to the Wii.
