Fantastic game, but I'm stuck on the part with the bubble-spewing Easter Island heads. Any tips?

Also:

Is there any way of recovering once you die? In my experience, dieing just once means the end of the game, since you respawn completely unpowered in a barrage of enemies more advanced than at the beginning of the game.

And which is better - Laser or Double?

Hehe, I'm actually male.

But thanks for the cheat, I'll save it for when I'm really desperate (which is actually right about now  ).

Solution: play Ikaruga, it contains no powerups so you're as strong on the last boss as you where on the first enemy.
I haven't played Gradius myself so I don't know the level of the game and that stuff but the normal way of completing things like this is to do it the hard way and train yourself to survive, and play often since he you don't play a shooter in a month or so you will lose a lot of your old skill.

I suppose you're right, perseverence is the key. I've been stuck in a couple of areas before, in fact, and now I breeze through them effortlessly simply because I've played through them countless times. It's just that this particular area that's giving me more trouble than I've had before, and I'm making only tiny progress (if any) each time. :P

I'll have a glance at Ikaruga though, since you recommend it. I do prefer power-up based shooters, though.

Thanks!

Oh, please please please have a proper look at Ikaruga. It's the distillation of all that's great about shooters in one game. It made me fall in love with the genre all over again. If I can find a copy of Radiant Silvergun, I'll have a go at that as well, but Ikaruga really is as good as it gets.

Well, i count asking someone to help cheating, its like using a walkthrough.

For this part i used the Double-Shot and i think it's the better choice, because shoting down the bubbles makes this more easier. And try to kill many Heads as possible. Place your Options wisley for dodging or "absorbing" bubbles.
In the last Level before the last boss i also use always Double.
And for the rest of the game i used the Laser.

....can't wait for Gradius 2 and Ikaruga is IMO the best Shooter after Radiant Silvergun. I agree with iNma, give this game another chance. There is no other Shooter and/or game like this. And maybe there will never be one...
