I got Scarface and MK: A today. Wanted to rebuy Godfather (Bro bought it and didn't like it, I did but refuse to pay more than £25 for it) but couldn't find it (Bro told me he saw it in GAMESTATION for £22. Because of him I ran to GS and then to every other game store in the Metro Centre just incase he got mixed up).
But Grainger, have Scarface and MK: A in for £25 each!
So I snapped that offer up (Although I got Scarface from Maughan Computers because I found it for £25 in there first).
Scarface seems to be canny little game. Just had a quick play and it's not bad at all, quite fun. Even if you don't like the movie (I hated it. Godfather and Goodfellas **** on it). However there is gratuitous use of the F word. I counted 50 F's after 5 mins.
And MK:A, well, I thought the Wii controls were gonna be awful. But after messing about for 30 mins. They're quite fun. Granted if I was in a competition i'd want the pad as they're not particularly dependable, but they're fun and good enough for a daft laugh.
After my headache subsides i'll have a good play on them and come back to tell you guys a bit more about them :)

Well Scarface's controls aren't bad. There's no jump which is a bit of a downer, as it could really do with one.
The aiming seems canny accurate, but sometimes the aim will lag a bit when you start moving it over someone's body.
About the game though. Quite violent and LOTS of swearing. At times it can be a bit slow paced requiring you do drive from place to place to talk to people or to aqquire some drugs. You can sweet talk people by holding "A" when a circle appears and depending on how full you get the circle without going over it, depends on how well you sweet talk.
But you use this to sell drugs for more, or buy them for less, or get better rates at the bank or even to talk yourself out of trouble.
The driving is ok, but i've played with better.
Things are a bit simplistic but it's still a fun game that's keeping me entertained despite hating the film.
However, anyone who thinks this is GTA and that they can go on a rampage, you're WRONG!
As Tony doesn't kill anyone who doesn't have it coming to them. Meaning no civie casualties. You can't even kill them by running them over.
MK: A.
Well, I don't know what to think.
It's unlike past Kombat games, there's fewer styles of fighting per character and fewer moves/combo's. What combo's you do have, are pretty tame (4 commands at most). So unless you have to learn how to link moves together like in the MK games of old, I don't know (Only had it a day).
Controls. Well, I had a quick go with the classic controller and hated it. Haven't tried the NGC, and i'm addicted to the Wiimote.
The only thing is, sometimes it feels so intuitive and amazing and I fell like I could never swap back to a standard interface. And then othertimes, it's really really bad. It doesn't work properly (Wrong move) or at all.
I have no idea what the problem is, it's so weird. How can it go from amazing to awful in the space of 2 mins?
Unless it's because I swapped over from high light to low light? But even then, i've never ever had problems playing my Wii in low light. So I honestly don't know what it is.
Game wise, well, it's like any other 3D Kombat game. It has death traps all over the stages and some have special weapons hidden. It plays like any other 3D Kombat game too. It has a Konquest mode which is good fun IMO and will keep you going for a while.
It has tons of unlockables and a character creater. So no more will you have to choose between Sub Zero's awesome Freeze Ball and Scorpion's awesome Spear "GET OVER HERE!" as you can have both (I think. You have to unlock/buy moves to put them onto your guy).
Basically, i've played better games than these 2, but for £25, these games are well worth it IMO.

Good reviews Demon. I'm getting some money soon, so I'm considering Armageddon. I'm still unsure about it though, and I could just save the money instead...

Well it depends, what would you be saving up for?

I've given up on the MK series. The games are/have become just a bit too mediocre for me. There currently may not be any other fighters on the Wii (besides the VC), but that's no reason for me to waste my money on this title.
