I never knew there was a pc gears of war. oh well i don't care, I don't download games on my PC and I didn't really like gears of war any how. My friend tried and tried to make me interested but I'm not a fan of Guns and shooting in real life graphics. hallo 3 on the other hand.... Of coruse I do like some shooting games but i really dislike gears of war. I can never lean agaisnt the wall I ether roll out into the open or jump over what i was trying to lean on and get shot die then my friend would come and save me but get shot and die then get mad at me because it was a really hard part and say "you suck man go home!"

Doesn't Gears of War use UnrealEd for level editing? It's the only 3d editor I could ever use well. I just can't wrap my head around things like Valve's Hammer.

Well, read a review of it and appearently it's the worst port that has ever been made.
As written in Super PLAY (swedish gaming magazine) :
"GoW is one of the glitchiest games I've ever seen. The installation itself takes 43 minutes, only to freeze in the main menu so you'll end up on your desktop with an unknown program error. I call the support and they say that it's a compacilityproblem in Windows Vista and I get the advice to reinstall. This time the installation takes 53 minutes and ends up with the same problem.
This time I don't care to call the support since I already know the answer and checks Epic's forum instead. It's totally filled with topics about the same problem that I have and some more or less working solutions.
After two and a half hours of solutiontesting the game still won't start. Finally I get the game to start without a clue how. This time it doesn't freeze but have MAJOR FPS-lag. My computer managed Crysis on max but the game freezes 10-12 seconds every two minutes and when it's running it's full of screen tearing. It's simply the worst port ever, and consider that they've ported it for one whole year."
Some sentences has been shortened to fit the english language.
Note that this happened with Vista, I don't know if it behaves different on XP or if they've fixed the problems since this was written but I wouldn't buy it until someone says it's working.
Research before buying.

Using Vista and it runs fine for me with no crashes or anything but people still seem to be complaining about it on other sites. So it seems that there is something going on with certain hardware it isn't agreeing with or something. The online is pathetically dead so if anybody were to consider getting it for the online play thinking there are going to be a ton of people playing and a bunch of custom maps and stuff then stay away. On the Epic forums they recently said another patch is in the works so maybe it will fix the problems some people are having. And hopefully then the online will pick up and get some good modding. I also think Halo 2 and Shadowrun have hurt the games for windows live brand since so many people still think they have to have Vista to play them since those two required Vista.
