I was thinking of buying the best Gamecube games to play on my Wii, because I never had one and thought it would be cool because I've heard of a few good games, so I've been buying some off of ebay. But which games do you think I should get?

Ikaruga, but only if you're into Shmups. Otherwise you can go for SSBM and Metroid games. Zelda is a nice game aswell.

SONIC ADVENTURE 2 BATTLE IS PLATFOMING PERFECTION (well it and sonic Adventure dx are both platforming perfection but only on the gamecube)

The best Gamecube games are

Super Mario Sunshine
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Pikmin (1&) 2
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

These fall off, because you can get a better version on Wii:

Resident Evil 4
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Super Monkey Ball
Super Mario Sunshine
Animal Crossing
Pikmin
Metroid Prime
Wind Waker
Sonic Adventure DX/2 Battle
F-Zero GX
Ikaruga
Skies of Arcadia: Legends

I know listing so many games is making things even more difficult, but the Gamecube really was a great console, with so many great games.

Well, it's his opinion...

It's not quite perfection, only very few games are that, but it's a great game. It doesn't match up to the 2D adventures but is still very fun and under-rated.
I doubt any other 3D Sonic games will match up to it. =[

Don't worry I agree with you Pocketim, I think SA2's a great game (second only to Sonic Adventure). Might not be perfection in the sence that it's without any flaws what so ever but for pure fun and replayability Sonic Adventure games are great.

Wow, All very good suggestions. I have been trying to get Super Mario Sunshine off of ebay, But its so Hard to get a copy without getting into a Bid war. I'm mostly trying to get games for about under a tenner, I already got Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban on the Gamecube from ebay, because I had played the PS2 Version, and it really is an Under-rated game. I'm also going to get a Copy of Aggressive Inline because I've heard good things about it. I was gonna try to get some of the Tony Hawk games, But I already Own copies of them on other sytems (and I own THUG 2 on both my PS2 and PSP). I definently will get Windwaker and I'll try a few other games out. I was thinking of Getting The Ocarina of Time: Master Quest, But first I'm going to have to complete the Original on my Wii. Thanks for your suggestions

Super Mario Sunshine is a terrible game, I think more people will agree with me on that one, FLUDD ruins it all

I disagree with you there, Super Mario Sunshine is a great game, one of the best on Gamecube. You should try Amazon, they have used copies for under £10, it's an essential game.

Totally disagree coz Super Mario Sunshine is the one and only Gamecube game that was challenging enough to keep me playing for 1 year straight.

Apart from that it has a somewhat new story, added Mario universe content (italian holiday beach setting), enhanced gameplay (Fludd/water rocketbelt), new quirky musics and one of the best gamecube-graphics.

You need to put time into this one. It's not the generic Mario platformer.
Remembering this game and getting all 120 shine sprites was an varied exciting and challenging task. Not every part of it was perfect, but comparing it to other gamecube titles, this is still in my Top 3.

10/10 Anyway, it's controversial. Youre either in the club baby or youre not!

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is kinda the same.
Very hard and challenging.. but again, it's beatable and had lots of variety.
Second best gamecube-platformer in my book. Sonic never competed with Mario this close.
9/10

Oh yes, talking about platformers, there weren't many on the gamecube.
The N64 had dozens of top quality platformers, the Gamecube had just a few.
Bronze for DK Jungle Beat, fourth place goes to Wario World.

I also liked Super Mario Sunshine, though it just didn't feel like a proper 3D Mario game to me, just like what Super Mario Bros. 2 feels to many as the "Black Sheep". Also I thought it was a lot more difficult than Super Mario 64, which was fairly easy to me.

Mario Sunshine was actually my first 3D Mario game, and so I found the learning curve extremely difficult because I had to get used to the Mario 64 controls and FLUDD at the same time was very difficult/frustrating. I was almost tearing my hair out by the 2nd level, but I have very fond memories of playing through it for the first time, I can't believe it was almost 5 years ago. When I went on to play Mario 64 (and other N64 platformers like Banjo) I found it much easier.

Must-have GC games in my opinion are as follows:

1. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Get this even with Brawl comin out. Hell, I plan on having Melee, Brawl, and hopefully the original if it comes out on VC, as I don't have a cartridge. It's always great to revisit the classics.)

2. Metroid Prime (With MP3 out now, playing the original is a must. Not to mention, it's just really fun to replay in my opinion. Also, you can get it from any second-hand store for, like, $8)

3. Soul Calibur II (This game rocks with Link in it. However, from a genre stand-point, this is a truly awesome "traditional" fighter in comparison to Melee, however I love both.)

4. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (WW is a solid Zelda. What more do you need? :p)

5. Mixed bag, pick on what you like! If you love Metroid Primes 1 and 3, get 2! I don't think it's as good, but it's still a solid Metroid game through-and-through. Or, you can get something like the Megaman Anniversary Collection. I got it mostly for Mega Man 2 speed runs. No joke. Or, if you have the friends and the GBAs, get Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for a multiplayer blast. It's so fun unless your friends are being stupid.

My opinion of course, but Melee is a must no matter what :o

But it's a really good one. You really need to get this. It's the best 3D Sonic. Great storyline and gameplay.

I am currently replaying Tony Hawk's Underground. That's an even better one.

Super Smash Bros. Melee.

'nuff said.

Brawls coming out sure, but Melee will always be a classic, and so will the original.

I've completed Underground on PS2 like 15 times to unlock everything (Teams, Vids, Moves, Gaps, Characters...). I've played that game inside and Out... Now If had made a Tony Hawk game without Waggle Controls and the old 'overthe top Arcade' feel, That would have been cool.

Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
Super Mario Sunshine
Metroid Prime
Super Smash Bros. Melee

It's indeed the best one in 3D...which kind of speaks about how good Sonic is in 3D.

Actually, I found Secret Rings to have a tiny, tiny piece of the good old Sonic in it. Just one playable character and parts where it got really fast sometimes. It wasn't often, but sometimes I was 3 years old again and playing Sonic for the first time...

I'm in the club! While I do think that FLUDD was a gimmick too far, I loved Sunshine. It's a very well put together game, and it has the gameplay focus which I've always felt that 64 sometimes lacked.

Nah, FLUDD is great, although a bit awkward to get used to, especially if you hadn't played Mario 64, but in the end it gave you extra freedom of movement (I'm talking about like in hover mode) which worked well. I'm just disappointed it didn't make a cameo appearance in Galaxy!

That's true. FLUDD did open up the gameworlds a bit, and allowed you more options in terms of movement. I'm just not sure the game is significantly better off with it.

Heh, now I want to play Sunshine again!

My top picks are:

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Tales of Symphonia
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

I can't believe so many people like sunshine and wind waker. I couldn't get into those games at all and I love the Mario and Zelda series too.
