There's Banjo, there's Conker and there's the original Diddy Kong Racing. Apart from that there's lots of forgotten 3:rd party titles that will never even be considered. Digging through my own collection I can mention CyberTiger, pretty obscure golf game on N64 by Saffire. That game is worth it for the two-player Battle Mode alone.
As for GoldenEye, I'm stubborn, I believe it will come, sooner or later. The demand is very high, and I believe the majority of the requesters would be fine with paying like 2000 points for it. I know I would.

Zero Tolerance. It was an awesome FPS on megadrive.
1 bullet kills each enemy, you have a radar telling you where they are once they notice you and on the side it'll give you an amount of how many are left in each level. And there's hundreds of levels. It works brilliantly.
I was gonna get pics, but the URL's are of a ridiculous length and they won't work if I put on the IMG tags.

I was actually gonna start a topic like this. Glad to see it. 8) Anway, what do you think the chances of the VC getting the below games?:
T&C Surf Designs (NES)
Double Dragon series (NES)
Maniac Mansion (NES)
Shadowgate (NES Original, not the blah 64 one)
Crystalis (NES)
There are a few more games that belong on this post that I can't remember at this time. When I remember the others I'll post them.

There's a lot of people posting games that will probably come out on the VC.
If it's made/published by Nintendo, consider it on the way. If it's an original Rare game, then we're in the "unlikely" stage.
Now, if we're talking "less obvious VC games"...
Mega lo Mania (have to back up Smart Patrol on that)
The Megadrive's Disney platformers:
Castle of Illusion
World of Illusion
Quackshot
Aladdin
Jungle Book
These are unlikely because you have at least 3 corporations (and slavering teams of lawyers) to please before the contracts are signed and the games are up.
ie, Nintendo, Disney and whoever published it at the time (or owns the publisher now).

This sounds like a new licensing deal needs to be struck up, like Konami had to for TMNT:
Source (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/791/791978p1.html)
IGN: Many of our readers are curious as to the 100 point increase on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Why was that game 600 points? Should VC players expect similar bumps in general with licensed games?
Dennis Lee, Group Manager for Konami: For TMNT, there was some negotiating involved with the licensing of the title. As you know, currently we do not hold the video game license for TMNT, so we had to create a new licensing deal for these titles. Every game is a case-by-case basis so I wouldn't say that it would be a standard of "any licensed game is going to be 100 points more than a non-licensed game". Our ultimate goal is to bring great entertainment to the consumer, unfortunately for this title the end cost needed to increase to be able to bring this title to the VC.

Yes, partly in terms of licensing, and partly in terms of the quality of the gameplay, which hardcore SFII fanatics like yours truly might contend matters.

MD SFII had a number of mostly cosmetic improvements. "Normal" mode had up to four star speed, whereas on the SNES there was no speed adjustment on that mode. Also, there were more palettes used for the characters; I believe the SNES had four colour choices for each character, whereas the MD had about eight (I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but the MD had more than SNES).
Not huge changes, but just enough to put the MD ahead a tiny bit.

 why wont road rash come?
iNma
10th June 2007, 02:22 PM
SFII on MD was based on a middling revision of the Turbo arcade board which was more popular than the slightly later revision used for the SNES conversion, and the faster processor of the MD allowed for some split second timing changes that had been introduced into the SNES version (mainly due to omitted frames) to be readjusted, so the MD version actually plays more faithfully to the arcade game as well, particularly when jumping in with deep cross-ups and for on-the-ground 2-in-1s.
Furthermore, that original MD 6-button joypad, together with the Japanese Saturn pad, has to rank among the all-time greats for fighters. 8)
There was no World Warrior port for the MD, only one called the Special Champion Edition, but which was, in fact, Turbo SFII Hyper Fighting in disguise, and not the arcade Champion Edition (which was the variant before Hyper Fighting)

Say what you will about it not controlling well with a controller, but this *was* my ultimate childhood game, and probably my all time favourite game, so I'd do anything to get it on the VC. Curse you Sony for owning the rights!
But then, I probably wouldn't be satisfied unless they put all three NES, SNES and Mega Drive versions on there =P

Wow, thanks for so comprehensively clearing up those Street Fighter II questions there, iNma- saves myself a bit of typing! I just felt that the Mega Drive version was better than the SNES on various fronts- control, animation, colours and how the characters actually looked. I thought they looked a bit gormless on the SNES. Of course, if someone wants to prove my dodgy memory wrong, you're more than welcome!

I'd completely forgotten that Sony owned Psygnosis. That's a shame, since that means we most likely won't see Shadow of the Beast either. :(
Still, Lemmings was created (although not published) by DMA (now Rockstar), so there may be some hope, but I doubt it.
Still, the Amiga original was the best, so I'd want that over any of the ports.

Really? When I was hooked by EVO (...of course it was discovering the Daigo vs Justin full parry video), I didn't have any chance to play any SF game, so I ended up everyday on Wikipedia exploring in detail every single SF article there was, searching for emotions, beacuse I wanted to be part of it.
So, I think I can say THANK YOU, and hoping to raise your self confidence, because I really appreciated to be educated!
The only editing I made on Wiki has been removed (but it was no important thing), where some excessive fan of Kojima called Stealth games "snake'em ups" instead of "sneak'em ups".

Actually, I didn't even own the game myself, but one of my mates had it on the Mega Drive, and I decided to "borrow" it from him and never gave it back. The speech was great for its time, with the various faction leaders having their own stock phrases, such as Scarlet's "Huh, no!" when you asked her to become your ally. I was never that great at it, but I'd buy it for the nostalgia alone. The VC is great for allowing you to relive your childhood. I find that a whole wave of crazy memories come flooding back, stuff that I hadn't thought about for years, when I play certain VC titles. Those were the days!

Hey guys. I registered for this forum just to put in my two cents as to what should be released on VC but probably never will... so here goes:
#1) Goldeneye - Rare - N64
This just won't get released. Nintendo spoke with Microsoft and Rare to try and secure the rights for Goldeneye on VC, but it didn't work out. Shame.
#2) Herzog Zwei - TechnoSoft - Genesis/MD
I just love this game. One of the first RTS ever made, or at least that I ever played. I bought it on a whim and was amazed at the depth of it. IIRC, 16 great maps, smart AI, and the 2-player split-screen in this game is some of the best 2-player, head-to-head action you'll ever experience... that is if you can find someone to play with who knows how to play this game. I think it won't get released because Nintendo can't find anyone from TechnoSoft to sell them the rights.
#3) Super Mario All-Stars - Nintendo - SNES
Won't get released because, why give away 5 games for 800pts when you can dole them out for 2500?
#4) Desert Strike (or even Jungle Strike) - Electronic Arts - SNES/Genesis/MD
I loved the SNES version of Desert Strike. Was a ton of fun flying around taking out tanks and looking for POWs in the desert. Don't think it'll come out because EA is unwilling to play ball with Nintendo licensing out the franchise. Big corporate mentality I think. Hang on to every IP with an iron fist no matter what.
#5) Super Monaco GP - Sega - Genesis/MD
Great Racing game. Actually let you race with your choice of an automatic, 5-speed, or 7-speed transmission. Had a career mode where chose rivals and vied for sponsorship with better and faster teams. No good reason why it wouldn't come out. Didn't see it on the list. Perhaps "Monaco GP" is trademarked?
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'll post again after I start spending my Wii points. Just got 6000 today!

Herzog Zwei! My mate had that game and it confused the hell out of me. I'd buy it!
Super Mario All-Stars: Yeah, it won't happen unfortunately. Oh well, I've already downloaded Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario World. I can't wait for the eventual release of Super Mario Bros. 3!
Desert Strike: I'd buy it for that title music alone!
Super Monaco GP: My cousin had that game, and I wasn't very good at racing games back in the day. I'll pass!
More games that would kick ass but probably won't see the light of day:
Battletoads
Wrath of the Black Manta
A Boy and His Blob
The Revenge of Shinobi
Speedball 2
James Pond II: Codename Robocod

Different person. The Dave Perry you are talking about is a games journalist with a collection of bandanas. But I think you meant David Perry, the Ulster lad who left Britain for LA, and made Disney's Aladdin for Mega Drive and founded Shiny Entertainment, creators of Earthworm Jim, MDK, Enter the Matrix etc.

Nope, I do mean Dave Perry of Shiny Entertainment, and I was specifically referring to his appearances in Edge magazine circa 1996. Having said that, he was back in there the other month talking about his new venture.
In Edge he's always been referred to as Dave Perry, but having glanced at the Wiki article it seems to be David. Either way, He's the one I was talking about.

It all depends on your perspective. When most game programmers look like failed facsimiles of John Carmack, a dude wearing a cool T-Shirt and a £400 Gucci belt (though I abhor the idea of wearing one myself), is indeed dressed in funky clothing.
